Are you referring to the original American version of "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy" or the newer UK version of the show? On the American version, they have made over black guys (usually nerdy and/oroverweight dudes). The Bravo Network here in the States airs both theUS and UK versions back to back.

Personally, I watch the show (US version)for the amusement factor, not because I think they have tips I can pass along to a guy. I like how they refer to waxing a really hairy man's back as "manscaping" and make catty comments while going through the straight guy's belongings. These "Queer" guys aren't metrosexuals. Metrosexuals are straight guys who have adopted gay men's alleged knack for style and good grooming. The "Queer" guys are really queer guys. If you trying to attract women with your style, I think is better to get a lady's opinion.

The Comedy Central Network did a 4 part parody called "Straight Plan For The Gay Man". In one episode, the straight guys tried to make over a gay, black Broadway dancer: making him drink more beer, not flushing the toilet after he peed, etc. I think the gay guy was seriously traumatized by the stripper who shook her @ss in his face and gave him a lapdance. LOL!!

I liked the South Park version, where the queers turned out to be the crab people who wanted to turn all men Metrosexual for some evil plan.. Something about making men weak so that they the crab people canrule the Earth.

South Park,a source of great knowledge.

I watched this show twice and that was about enough for me.

I am not taking any advise from a gay man as to how to handle/makeover my man . blknoway

I particularly fround it disgusting how that blond one spent his time fawning over the men they were making over (even knowing full well that these are straight men with girlfriends waiting on the wings!!)

I didnt see the show where they made over a black dude - but I bet his girlfriend wasn't black though!

LMAO @ Happiness!!

I like how women think its THEIR perogative to be in charge of their mans style LOL. You probably vexed at the thought of being usurped by an outsider doing YOUR job ha ha ha...

Do you realise H, that when a woman gets hold of her man and dresses him that more and more women want him? just a thought

Back to topic

I have never seen the show but it has a silly premise, that homosexuals have more style and taste than straight men and we should take tips from them?? BOLLOCKS!!

You never see me dress up like them, friend them, take any sort of advice from such a nasty person!! Never see a proper man in those kind of tight batty jeans or stupid shirts and as for manicures!!! KMT

to be honest

I don't find queers having any better taste

they all look the same

blond streaks

tight bright coloured t-shirt

pinstrip blazer jacket

and combat blue jeans

yuck!

me I hate over vain men

you know the ones with their pecs out and wearing just a jacket with nothing underneath.

Give a normal man anyday

The show isn’t to make over a man’s man, a straight guy who can dress himself or his girlfriend can dress him so to speak… LOL… The show is for the absolute worst clueless slobs to make-over.

Let’s be honest, Carson can't dress for shiet, his clothes are shocking , but I love his sense of humour....he can so be mybest shopping friend, all his got to do is bring his credit card and enthusiasm for shopping…LOL

Well I cant stand the company of gays.

They are too off key. A man talking like a women. With feminine ways.. or that look they have that has decadence written into their face.

Watch the friends dem that you keep....

Never watched it and don't intend to.

I am waiting for that new show called 'Straight eye for the Black Guy'....where a group of conscious brothers give other black guys pointers on getting in 'shape' so they can find the Nubian Queen they have been looking for to settle down with. I hear talk that the BBC are thinking of taking it up......is that true?

There are those who feel that the only way to ‘prove their own worth’ is by ‘devaluing the worth of others’. You will often find that a man who is compelled to measure his substance against the substance of another, has little of substance in the first place!

@ DM - yeah....operative word, DM, is"WOMEN"!!!! I would rather another woman want my man than a man wanting him. (Perish the thought)....its the idea of my man dressing according to the taste/style of a gay man that I dont like.

Essentiallyy he is being made into agay man (in style) at least...and if I wanted a gay man, I would go and have a sex change or look for a metrosexual, ok! As it is I want a straight, black man and I dont want him to be dressed by a gay, white guy. (Cheap thrills, if you ask me!!)

Anyway, DM, I dont like the show...I find it very uncomfortable to watch....I think the men being "made-over" are closet homosexuals...which is fine but they have girlfriends!! (I wonder how many of the made-over men get completely "made-over" by one of the 5niceone.gif(if you get my drift!)
