Airbrush Makeup - has anyone had any luck with it, especially the d.i.y. kit, any tips before buying?

Lady day the man in the know is Sam Fine, he put IMAN in the lime light, his book is called fine beauty, though I have not read but I am sure he has included all the essential tips. * SAMFINE Celebrity Makeup Artist *

I use Cover Girl tinted SPF moisturizer. I prefer just wearing a tinted moisturizer for daily makeup because it's very light and it actually helps my skin.
I also don't tend to wear a lot of makeup (even when I try to wear a lot of makeup it doesn't seem like much).

I was looking at the sleek eyeshadow dusts today actually there the cheapest on the market right now, in the terms of the smokey eye I would say have someone at a counter show you, that's how I learnt!
My new discovery is MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Powder is makes me GLOW!

Right.
The foundation I use is not being stocked anymore It was a reallly good one from Boots. Cheap but PERFECT for my skin.
I tried the new brand that they they've replaced it with, but its too light.
So I now want to try one of the more expensive brands.
Which is better MAC or Iman? I want to buy one of these two.

I think it depends, my mum loves Iman foundation sticks but then alot of people swear by MAC, I use MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Powder instead of foundation for a sheer coverage.

I was going to suggest going on youtube for make up tutorial, Erin's tutorials are pretty good. She shows that black women can wear colour and wear it well.
Ladyday, I have only seen the hip line on ebay, but I couldn't be bothered to pay for it.
Oh and another book that is really good is Kevin Aucoin, making faces. look for it on amazon. It really helped me on how to apply make up.
I personally like MAC cosmetics and I have recently bought an eyeshadow pallete on ebay. It's the ones that have 40 + colours in them. There very pigmented and cheaper than anything I've seen. I've mainly used the pallettes over the MAC eyeshadows.
For foundation I use a brand called Joy Lorraine. She's based in the US but I LOVE her foundation. way better than MAC and it blends right into my skin. You could hardly tell I was wearing it.
saying all of that, I don't wear make up to cover anything up. I wear to enhance my features from time to time. It sometimes good to wear to pull an outfit together. I have never scared any boyfriends by looking like a duppy either after taking it off!
I like to see what colour combinations I can do. I just like experimenting with it.

Personally i will never be buying a L'Oreal product again after they were convicted of racist hiring practices. If my kind isn't good enough to represent them in the department store, then i am not buying their things. standard which is a shame because i used to love their moisturisers. I love Bobby Browns stuff. They have a brilliant black gel eyeliner (about £14) which helps with the smoky eye look. Hard to remove but it lasts forever. I alwsys get compliments when i put it on.
