I don't wear make up myself. The most i use is vaseline on my lips lol, but i think Iman does a range for black folks and there is a website www.makeupforsisters.com. its an american site but you can order online. I think my sis uses Iman products. Expensive though.

I only use Fashion Fair products... it really works well for me
I use the Foundation Stick and Oil-Control Pressed Powder...
There is a fashion fair in Debenhams, go there and ask them to do your makeup, to see how it looks before you purchase it... also ask them for tips on applying makeup and advice on skin careā¦
PS⦠I also recommend Botanics face wash, and toner from fashion fair...

yup... fashion fair, foundation stick niceone.gif
oil control pressed powder niceone.gif
and cream blush niceone.gif
i dont use mascara, my lashes r long enough, plus they have a habit of gettin in my eye.
i use vaseline on my lips and a sheer lipgloss
i use my foundation stick as concealer as i dont like wearing makeup daily, i like my skin to breathe
also ask for tinted moisturiser, good alternative, to foundations.
and cleanse well. clear skin doesnt really need make up.
good luck!

Who does some good tinted moisuriser/concealer sticks? I don't want to wear full make up but i have a few 'blotchy bits' that i want to cover up. My aunt never used to wear make up either but she does now as she says the older you get the more you need it!! (she is 38) Am i on a slippery slope?!?!?

Its all about the lip gloss.I have to maintain my Lexilicious lips.
I hate to see black women with bright red lipstick(with out no lip liner) and nasty blue eyeshadow.
And i really HATE BLUSHER
since when did black people hv rose red up cheeks???
after we noh white!

I use Iman foundation which is light and natural looking.Available at all good department stores, also at Morleys in Brixton (LOL)
Eye make-up and brushes from Bobbi Brown at Selfridges.
Good quality brushes make all the difference.
I forgot to add -ALL women should pluck their eyebrows into a neat shape (that suits their face). No big face girl with thin drawn on eyebrows or small eye girl with thick heavy eyebrows. It makes such a difference to the face..................

MAC is the best make up brand I have used- Ive tried everything else- Iman, Fashion Fair etc and found that they are either too red/orange/yellow based for my skin type.
Does anyone actually use Mabelline? They are always advertising to black women yet Ive never seen any of their productsconfused3

Opal in paks in finsbury park have wide variety of shades of foundationfor women of colour, its in like a sort of paste but dries on as a powder, its heavy.
I used the green vasaline, with aloe vera i think its and clear lip gloss, i use black liquid eyeliner from superdrug and mascara but i dont wear make up everyday (to college) only on special occasions cos i have really good skin from my mummy and i dont want to spoil it, my mum dont wear make up either as she says it gives her spots.

Prescriptives...
they do a colour matching service well they will specifically mix a foundation which is for your skin only...
but then only wear make up on special occasions since I have altered my diet and exercise more my skin has become a lot better...
Blacknet Book Club coming soon...
