I'm not looking for another black woman bashing thread. But eventhough I think that a lot of the points made in the previous threadstowards black women were grossly exaggerated, I do think that there is room for us to improve as the new generation of black women. What I'm basically asking on this thread is for you to identify some of the areas that we can work on and what the possible solutions might be.
Please, I beg you don't be insulting, don't generalize and don't come with vague answers like, 'black women need to change their attitudes'. Try to be as specific as you can.

Off the top of my head I think Black women need to stop this 'well if Black men (can) do it, so can I attitude'. That really isnt a justification for being promiscuous, or having an aggressive manner towards members or the same or opposite sex. Black women are women Black men are men. We ARE different....
which is another thing...I think a lot more of us need to embrace this difference...and I dont mean this ''im an independent blkblahblkblah'' but as BlueHoney mentioned in a previous post embrace ur feminine spirit-or something to that effect.

good post sis
The only improvment black women need to do, is love their beauty, I would love for the day when i do not see a weave to the ass in any colour, or bleaching or anything of that sort.

LOL because its you Aryek I will say the following
1. Learnhow to listen to EVERYTHING including what you didn't expect to hear
2. Take heed of the past generation words of experience wisdom and knowledge don't ignore it or disregard it as you will miss out of crucial critical lessons and advice that DOES stand the test of time.
3. If you want to compete with men in behaviour there will eventually always be a price to pay in the end
4. Read what Black beauty said in her post above at least 100 times
5. It is not a sign or weakness or lack of power to embrace your feminine qualities, if you are reading this point! it means you didn't pay attention to point 1 and 4 above blkfingerwag
6. Don't view all black men as your enemy and don't tarnish all black men with the same brush as one or two bad examples........if its more than two you have experienced take time out to check yourself as well ......problems are not always one sided
7. If you interpret all this to mean be a docile Stepford wife type of women then your already set in your ways and wasn't ready to discuss things ........so take head of the following point blkscholar
8. Advise all new generation black women to stay far away fromAryek Dimoke and Sooofresh unless they want to be part of history written about in the next Chancellor Williams book "The Destruction of the Black Women" LOL blkdevillol

@BlackBeauty
I couldn't agree more with what you have said. I do find that there are a good number of black women who take that 'Miss Independent' thing to the extreme. There's nothing wrong with wanting to take care of yourself without havingto rely on a manfor your every need, but when it gets to the point that youforsake all feminine attributesand start acting like a man, thenI have to draw the line. There so many goodfeminine characteristics that we women need to uphold. I don't agree with women whothink that they need to be aggressive and thatbeing gentlesomehow makes youa doormate. Idon't agree with women who think that they should be promiscious just because men are allowed to act that way. I don't see nothing wrong withwithholding sex until your married or until you havedevelopedstrong feelings forthe person.I really do think that we need to correct the misconception that someblack women have about what it means to be a strong black woman. There are some of uswho have this term twisted. Some of uswho think that in order to be a strong black woman, they haveto step on other people's toes, push their men away by telling them that they have nothing to offer them and act selfish in their dealings with other people.

Listen you, don't come here and dredge up past arguments from previous threads just to get a rise out of me. If you want to agree with anyand everything those men say about black women just so they can think that you're special, then do so, but don't come here with your grudgeand try to spoil what I hope to make a clean thread.
And for your information, those little black girls you spoke of would not be pushing any man awayby acting like me. Two years of being with me hasn't driven my man to the black women are 'evil' bandwagon that you support so much.

What you said is very true. Too many of us are looking to the media and general society to tell us what we should look like. It really is time that we started to take pride in our own beauty.
