Eve,
Lil' Kim,
Mary J Blige,
Whitney,
Faith Evans the list goes on....
The celebrititeshighlighted aboveare massively influentialtrend setters and we all know they're not the only ones to wearcolouredhair butthey''reprobably da biggest ring leaders ofblack-blondes around. With the exception of Whitney they never turn out with their natural hair colour-ever!

Ask youself, doyouthink theyappreciate how bad an example they're settingthe community, particularly yound girls? No!
I personally thinkits quite damaging to theself-esteem of young black girls andstarts them off on the road of superficiality and self-loathing. I also thinkit goes some way to encouraging brothers to go outside. Its a question of them being attracted towhatthesesistersare trying desperately appear like.
People that constantly wear dyed and unnatural hair, I thinkhave deep self-denying internal issues, they're not completelysecure in themselves and theiridentity. The coloured hairhelps them feel better about themselves, boosts the're ego, makes them feel more princessless like.
In my opinion I dont think it suits black people, certainly not more than their own natural hair colour an am against its promotion.

if you really want our youths to "love themselves", stop picking apart their idols for petty reasons and start focusing on the positives these people do, or better yet point out alternative role models. I appreciate that the "blond" thing is a big issue to some people and i fully understand the reasoning behind it. However, there is much worse these women could be doing. I can't speak for the rest of the list, but I have always like T.Boz from the earliest days of the nineties and I have nothing against Mary J, except that she was extremely arrogant when she first came out. And i have never "loathed" myself because of these womens hair colour!! If anything, T. Boz made me MORE proud of who i was,
And as Adeola says, bored.
YOU ARE NOT DEFINED BY OTHER PEOPLES\' OPINION OF YOU!! ;0)

Madam Butterfly, so many things to respond with not enough space or time.
No ones disputing some of the more positive things they stand forBUT we mustappreciate that the "blond" thing is a big issue to some people. And its more than just some.
superficiality not an issue by you?
