International Women's Day March 8th 2007
Celebrated each year on the 8th March, International Women's Day is the day to celebrate the collective power of women from all walks of life in every country in the world.
NCADC today spotlight women seeking asylum in the UK, there is not enough space to detail their wonderful courage. All the women below are either women with children or on their own and all are suffering incredible hardship. But not one of them is thinking of giving up the fight to remain in the UK. Many of the single females pictured here do not receive benefits and are living on handouts.
There are probably thousands of such women now in the UK. NCADC wish for them all, that the Home Office recognises their plight and grants them protection.
And a special mention for the 'Women behind the Wire' in Yarl's Wood, Dungavel and Tinsley House IRC's.
