Default Black Woman, I keep Longing for you - 13-02-08, 10:54 PM

Excerpt from the book: Black Woman, I keep Longing for you

THE ECHOES OF OUR LOVE

Uncertainty reigned,
Just like the cold rains of sorrow that patters down,
And wipes away the dew from the shivering leaves.
That wipes away the memories of our love.

Can you hear me my darling, can you hear me,
Above the thunder peals and din of the night?
Can you hear me when I cry out to you,
In this vast expanse of unending time?

Uncertainty reigned, and then we parted.
We were blown apart like the dry leaves in the autumn wind.

My darling Black woman, I will not hold fast to recriminations.
I just want you back.
I just want our love to emerge from the hollow of the earth.

I cry out to you daily. But all I get back are the echoes of our lost love. Darling, where are you? Why do you not return my love?

I cry out to you daily. But all I get back are the echoes,
Of our ephemeral love.
