Coltrane did a recent post about reading...and the idea that maybe we do not read enough...

Anyone down for having a blacknet book club...have a featured book each month and get online and talk about it?

@Soofresh...

I dunno, I think we should do one book of any genre each month...that way we get a broad cross section...and maybe people might learn more about a genre that they would not normally read...

God, dont like uglysounds interesting what is it about?

@free

I have not read it yet? but my friend recommended it?

The first book took me 4 weeks to hunt down!

The fact that it sold out , shows it is a good book.

But, you have to have both volumes to get a feel of the full story.

Otherwise why dont you choose a book, I have over 260 books dating from my first one which was "Yush, Excess and Yardie" 1996 collectors items they are LOL

Just tell me which book and I will go and get it.

If interested please look at the post titled inspired by Coltrane...

Mods: if you can merge older thread with this one as the original title is misleading...

Im reading the secret life of Ghengis Khan right now but too many textbooks and work manuals taking up my time so it will be a while before I get in to it.

I also plan to start this next one I have about China during the boxers rebellion when they dashed all the foreigners out...

Free: I think thats an excellent idea....I'm currently reading 'East of Arce Lane' by Alex Wheatle....a fictional account of black life just before the first Brixton Riots in 1981....

Although I've read the Isis papers & Destruction of Civilisation, It would be interesting to reread these books and have a debate on the content and relevance of these works..
