Has anyone else read this book??

If not you really should......

Briefly it is about the effects caused by the preachings and visions of a teenage prophetess called Nongqawuse on the isiXhosa. The effects of this have devastating and self destructive consquences and leads to the deaths of thousands of Xhosa people.

Based on historical events and the true to life cattle killings in South Africa, the author takes us on a journey through the present back lash of the events right back to the time it actually happened at before.

Zakes Mda like a true African storyteller weaves his tale well and it sure does leave a haunting mark on you.

I have heard of this tale...............It,s a strange and tradgic one at that.

A Metaphor for all Black people struggling to shake the yoke of white oppression, and by doing so going into self-destruct.:?
