This novel is spoken in old Jamaican patois. It's a history lesson as well as a beautiful story of class, prejudices and culture. In a word "beautiful". I really enjoyed reading it to my mum. it took her back to her grandparents time.
All the new words (to me), were in fact old words, not generally used today, were a joy to look up and grab the senses of.
