does anyone know exactly what the situation is with bone marrow transplant in the black community.

why do we seem to have to go through the heartache of losing a young life without EVERYONE signing up for this.

i mean we r all on here talking shit about helping black people do this and that and this.well heres a way of doing something isnt it.

forget all the BS having a bone marrow donor card should be mandatory for us so called pan africanists shouldnt it??

just a thought.

@NT....

I feel your frustration. I really do. I am on the fence about anything being mandatory because when peeps in general feel they are being forced to do something it sometimes ends up have the opposite effect.

For some and not all, it will take having to experience a loved one or maybe themselves facing a life and death situation to truly understand what it is like to be in a situation that this young man finds himself in.

From exprience it is the worst position to be in...because as I have said you are virtually at the mercey of a stranger. The waiting itself takes it's toll...in fact it is right up there with having the disease. It's also emotionally and financially crippling.

Outside of appeals like this or first hand experience..I don't know what else it will take for others who have never exprienced anything like this to be or get interested.confused3
