Default Help!!!!!!!needed - 15-03-08, 08:51 PM

Does anyone know a person(s) that can officiate a wedding in an Afrocentric manner?

My friend is getting married in August . The legal ceremony is taking place in a registry office, but she would like someone to conduct an African centred ceremony at the reception.

Please let me know if you know of anyone.

the holy sacrement of marriage is a sacred thing; and not no fashion business; if she wants an afro-centric wedding; why not get married in an african church?

NB, getting married in an African church doesn't necessarily equate to an Africentric wedding. Further still, it suggests that the person getting married is of the Christian faith when in fact my perception of the request is that they are seeking a ritual that is based on African spirituality/rituals rather than a religion.

I could be wrong here and apologise and stand corrected if that is the case.

Well I was referring to an African Church that does practice African spirituality/ traditions - if it is just African rituals you want; you need to be fully aware of what your getting yourself into - its not just about the marriage ceremony. I do not distinguish between African spirituality & religion.
