Westside warrior news network for 03202008.
Cchwnn.

Kingsville,tx. Hello I am lewis mojo lewis with my report from the dark side of Westside. Now for our award winning barrio headline news:
Our women declare independence day.
Artist bashed for painting the hood.
And finally what is that black box doing under the hood.
A few polices and one bomb expert helped el constable cadena disarm a small black box that was found in front of el constable car parked next to his black dark side outpost yesterday afternoon. Once the only bomb expert showed up and dis armed the box. It was later found out that it was a small bomb and that it could have done damage if it would have gone off said the constable. It had enough gun power to blow up several dog house. The matter is being investigated.
Mario anglo a black artist was bashed down yesterday at a hood/ barrio art show that opened at the Westinghouse barrio mall. The protestor wanted the painting of “mi casa esa su casa” taken down. We are sure that Mario anglo meant no harm when he painted it, said the person in charge. He painted an optimistic portrayal of racially fractured hood coming together. It was said that many of the folks that complaint didn’t see what the artist saw. Some say it was a stereotypical depiction of some characters that live in the hood, it represents a geographical division that is inescapable truth for many living in the hood, and in a sense it’s not a pretty picture.
The artist try to explain to the few that were protesting, that it also acknowledges the efforts of good people on both sides, and it was time to bridge the gap and to heal long standings wounds. An finally, the artist told them that rather than arguing over a painting, maybe all barrio, hood members ought to work harder to give future artist a better scene to paint.
Yesterday a few sister gather in front of the barrio community center an declared march 19, as an independence and that they don’t need a man for anything. They proclaimed that more sisters are employed, are educated, own their own properties, have better credit and are able to create a comfortable life for themselves and their children without muc help from their counterpart. This is good for our hood, but what happens to those men that feel the same way, that’s another story.
Well folks there you have it and have a great tejano day and counting down to tejano roots and this could be our year.
