Latest album buys and MP3 player list -
03-01-09, 01:40 AM
Hi i am always looking for good music. This thread is people to discuss about their latest album purchases and also post their MP3 play list also.
I got Beyonce's I am Sascha Fierce and Brandy's Human for Christmas and I am Sascha Fierce is pretty decent. I am not to keen on some of the ballads though. This album has got a few songs that i converted over to my iPod. I converted Single Ladies put a ring on it, Hello, Smash into you, If were a boy, Halo and Scared of lonely.
Brandy's album is very good. I would have to say that she is my favourite artist right now. I really like the Warm Up track and Human. There are a few more songs that i really like as well.
This is my current MP3 player list. Btw, there is no need to paste a new mp3 list say every week because you changed a couple of songs or something.

Right now I'm feeling John Legend's Can't be my lover with Buju, that tunes is bad.
Also Lupe Fiasco's Go go gadget flow is one of the best rap tracks I heard for a while. Last year I enjoyed T-Pain's Chopped & Screwed, I danced the Arab money dance lol and thought Don't touch me by busta was the tune of the year... along with A Milli by Lil Wayne.
Solange's album is nice, better than her sisters. Jenifer Hudson hasn't been able to promote her album obviously but don't sleep on it because it's a good one. Ludacris's had some good tunes on the DJ Drama preview EP, Scarface's Emeritus was a good and destined to be another one of his criminally underrated ones like the Fix. Roots Manuva also dropped a good album last year.

Mokele Mbembe thanks i will have to look into buying two of those albums. The John Legend track seems pretty impossible to get hold of. I looked on Amazon and one person is selling it for £22 for one single. That song is not on his album. Also iTunes does not have it either.

Solange's album was great, Im listening ot Knaye's new album right now, hated it at first but it grew on me. Also hated lil Wayne but can't deny some of the tracks on Carter 3 are catchy, felling Mr Carter right now.
I ignored Nas untitled album because I didn't agree with what he wanted to call it, but my brother gave it to me for christmas. Ironically it is a fantastic album, very conscious and the best song is N. I. G ...... you get the drift.
There is no way I can post my itunes list on here it contains over 11,000 tracks!!!

I bought those two albums that were recommended to me and i really like them. Solange is a good singer. I like three songs on that album. I like I Decided, T.O.N.Y and Sandcastle disco.
Jennifer has an amazing voice. I love the track that she did with Fantasia and i also like the giving myself track and Spotlight.
I thought that i had a lot of songs lol 11,000 tracks Delicious wow. I have only got a 4GB iPod and it is enough for me.
Thanks for the recommendations.

A welcome return to form - listenable all through....
Gives the classic Sixties RnB sound a modern twist....the single 'On A Cloud' is a killer track, matched by several others on the album......check it out.....

One of the best independent soul artists out there right now, and developing a new sound....if you know his stuff you'll get it, if new to him check out 'The Vault' first for a better intro to Erro....
This is one of those albums that will take up residency in your CD player.....young bass man out of Lagos and London, and a graduate of Middlesex University.....album featues Roachford, Lynden David Hall, Terri Walker, Ty, and Michael's wife.....need to lay your hands on it - buy it for the track 'Altar Call' alone.....

I bought India Arie's TESTIMONY VOL. 2: LOVE & POLITICS last week. This has been out for about a year but i missed it as i've been pretty busy this past year.
It is ok, there are a couple of songs that i like on this album.
It is my least favourite album of India's to date though.
As the album title suggests some of the music is quite political and i don't agree with some of her politics. The stand out line to me was in the song ghetto where she claims that being hungry in LA is the same as being starving in Bombay?!
There are a couple of other things i don't agree with that caught my attention as well.
If you're an India Arie fan well it is may be worth a buy.

Hear you on India's last effort.....listenable enough, but over-produced and too many weak songs.....
On this year's output:
A jazz singer first and foremost, but plenty of soul in this one.....and due to play some live sets here soon....check it out......
