Does anyone here remember the american prison drama Oz (used to be on channel 4 late) it was the first big money drama by HBO before Sopranos, Sex and the shitty and six feet under. It had a great cast and many black and latino actors got their big breaks on it. It tackled alot of issues such as race, prison violence, police corruption etc.But where the sopranos and the rest are still shown on uk tv with dvd's in the shops we dont get anything, is this another case of the british public not taking drama's with a black or ethniccast seriously?
What do you guys think

Oz was a very good show. Scary as hell, a big deterent to getting locked up I swear. Channel 4 messed up though. They used to put it on at mad hours then screen the series in the wrong sequence so the viewer was going back and forth in time and such sillyness.
When Adebisi died that was a good build up and good moment.

@ Radio Raheem
Oz was canceled a few years ago thats why its not shown anymore over here, the last series they showed was on E4 so I missed it because they didnt show it on four but thats the way they are with certain programs from the us they mess about with the times rotten to name a few that got thrown around that deserved better treatment
Kingpin
Third watch
NYPD Blue
Homicide life on the streets
I could go on they disappear, and return without no notice, to the point where you just give up trying to look out for them!!

I liked all the factions
when they ground the glass in to the mob bosses food for a few weeks and he died.
Interestingly, see the bald guy who was the Aryans main guy? He is the shrink in law and order... such a chnage that when I watch it Im still amused.

Oz was brilliant... the actors were amazing... but it did get irritating when they kept messing with the time...
shame it got cancelled...
But, it had some brilliant story lines...
Blacknet Book Club coming soon...

I really liked Oz
But it was on so late I never got to watch it often. Had to catch it when I could.
Might have to check out the DVD.
