I'm loving Channel U and was just wondering what everyone else thought?
I don't watch it all the time and mostly tend to switch over during my programme breaks but everytime I do I become transfixed by the videos and the music. There is of course some good tunes but aside from that and more importantly it is great home grown entertainment. So great because that girl withering over the bonet ofrented 2001 Audi A3 for the video in last seasons clothes could be someone you know. Or the hot guy lip syncing over the tune could actually be somebody you could meet in the club! It's cool
Let me know what you think and I was also just wondering about the demographic that love the channel i.e age, gender, area your from...

i know a few people with videos on channel u
i only watch that channel if im looking for my friends latest video
or when the reggae and dancehall videos are on
i honestly do think that the channel is a good idea as the majority of those artists would not get onto any mtv channel etc. often you see some artists on there with there unsigned video and later they appear on mtv with a polished video. so in that aspect its aiight. its a way of promotion.
music channels are crowded with american dribble... welcome difference

I agreee with Ladyday about welcoming the difference and the only time I switch over is when they have their sessions of US artists...cos you have MTV Base for all that.

If you count the amount of channels for asians on satellite over 35 channels
channels for european on satellite over 40 channels
channels for africans(carribean/american) under 5
and most of those are playing too many MUSIC VIDEOS .
WHERE ARE THE DEBATES , WITH A MINIMUM OF 12 HOURS PER DAY TALK/INFORMATION .
I SEE A LOT OF CHRISTIAN CHANNELS WITH BLACK PEOPLE ON , BUT RIGHT NOW I THINK WE NEED MORE THAN CHRISTIAN DISCUSSIONS .
CHANNEL U IS GREAT !!! .............. WHEN YOUR ASLEEPblksnore

LOL the funniest video is the 'everybody do de surf' with this middle aged white dude with a faux-yard accent.
The worst thing is all the black women proper huggin close to him, I swear one is in evry shot holding his arm real tight.
I don't like seeing shit like that :X. Maybe im ignorant.

The one half decent thing coming out of Channel U is the jumpoff.tv mc battles and things they show - can't stand anything that could be called grime music shown on there

Now anyone with a camcorder and £500 can have a video on Channel U hence it is over saturated with un-talented wannabee rappers with faux american accents, cars, jewellery and 'hot' girls from the endz parading around in their primark underwear.
