The Chubbster

Not Chubb lock, I said Chubb ROCK.

Thats right theres a rapper almost as Big as Big and Pun put together! Beat that for a line! Ha!Whooo!

*Calms down*

Only got one of his albums but the guy is classic, a Slick Rick story stylewith a slight consious side fused with an origional old skool rap flow. Hes still around but hides out on the underground hardly venturing outside of his big mac and fries box unless Prince Paul gives him a call and demands his money.

The album I've got is apparently his best,his stuff isn'tso easy to find.

The guy is brilliant, one of hip hops greatest with ease.
"Cause we owe them -so take out your pen -sign an autograph you might make a new friend."
banana.gif
''My style gives autographs - plus -gets nuff laughs''
His last albumcame out in 1997 - The Mind. Other than that the only other tune I've heard recently was on Prince Pauls - Politics of the business (2003).

Not sure what to make of this album, came out in 2003, only bought it for the trackChubb features in;Can you please pay the $2200 you owe f/Chubb Rock, Wordsworth & MF Doombut yeah its a good album, reccomend it, its got Dave Chappelle in it and a whole host of other artists as Prince Paul himself is a producer not a rapper. Not going to make this a thread about the man but P.Paul is definately a top producer his album;

Is one of my favorites, the track - Its a stick up. Is classic. niceone.gifProduces for quite a few people, one group in particular, forget the name... could be De la soul thinking about it. Think it is.
Anyway Chubb dosen't like to get hyper so hes not on the scene buthe (has a pocket full of green) wasobviously inspiration forBigge Smalls... that track Biggie did where hesknocking out some American football players wife and finds the money under the floor after he ties her up pretending it was a robbery? Yeah, that was theChubbster getting jacked for his story .lol. Not literally,Chubb made the story and Biggie borrows it, Biggiegets away at the endwith enough cash to buy a franchise with KFC whereas Chubb gets gunned down in his putting a morale to the story,condoms aren't the only things that save lives... wear a vest people.
Mosthave probably heard him featuring on a few peoples tracks, hes on the anthem Return of the crooklyn dodgers (1993)with Jeru the damager (will make a thread about him soon, one of my favorite artists) for example and a few others as well but most people don't recognise him for who he is and his contribution to da game... hes also Jamaican btw, just like Kool Herc.
Heres a few downloads... of course all the albums I have are on v-i-n-y-l just to (re) literate thatbut you're all welcome to the downloaded versions which will of course be of lesser quality.
Its what friends are for.... or so I've heard.

^^^ Top track ^^^

Chubb Rock was one of the most under rated rappers EVER

interesting dude.....he was a National Merit Scholar......attended Brown University...
like most of the truly great well rounded rappers..he had Jamaican roots and newyork background......like slick rick , biggie smalls, busta rhymes, etc,etc...

Great rapper who made stances about his opinions in records...anti weed.......etc, but was loved by the hardcore fans for his flow and intricate lyrics...

Return of Crooklyn Dodgers was one of his better verses...

check for...his rhymes on "back to the grill again""by mc serch

"the chubbster"

"treat me right"

He refused to play music industry "whore" to his company and sat out latter part of his contract....he does radio dj gigs in major markets now....

Posted up 'treat me right' haven't got ''back to the grill''. The Big Man is a cool track forget the name of it but the;

''4 out of 10 murders are love related, keep your boat inna your pants...''

Is another, its the one Biggie used. Swear Ninja man is on the Big Man track, calls him Robbin but he sounds like Ninja Man.

He was so good on radio.....had the "radio" voice and eveything....

Hope he doesn't attempt a comeback....and that he's transitioned into the next phase of his career.
