Jay Z finally makes an honest woman of Beyonce! Congrats! -
05-04-08, 08:42 AM
After six years of dating, Beyonce and Jay-Z finally got married in NYC on Friday.
The pair chose to get married yesterday because 4/4/8 has special significance for them.
The wedding was a white affair, with guests wearing cream-colored outfits. Attendees included all the Knowles, the Destiny's Children and Gwyneth & Chris Martin.

Black-P - when you hear stuff like 14 yrs, this is usually quite a big deception and really defines who long the two were legally tied as opposed to how long they were in a relationship. It was about five years between 'marriage' and divorce with me and my ex, and 7 years 'together' before that, I'd say 3 years out of that 12 could be considered as a relationship or being together.
Pre-nup - I like to take it for granted that these two know the drill and there's nothing either of them need to change attitude for now they have each other legally tied, with that much finance between them you would like to believe that it's something far bigger than celebrity and money holding them together but then you could argue if that was the case, what took them so long
Relationships are funny, now they are married they'll probably talk children next only to find Jay-Z has a low sperm count or something which becomes the beginning of the end. Take nowt for granted

I peeped that about Jay and B early. I think that's why they have lasted. I remember an interview from YEARS ago, where Jay Z was asked if they were involved and the interviewer was trying to get all up in. Jay basically said, if we are involved, why would i talk about that to you? Then he said, everybody knows that the minute you start having unnecessary folks all up in your relationship business, stirring up ish, getting in each person's ear, the relationship is doomed. He said that's true whether the couple are famous or if they live in the hood. WHen I heard him say that, I said to myself, they are definitely together, they will probably last, cause it's probably genuine, cause he's already "protective" of it. I also detect a great amount of basic RESPECT that each of them have for each other, from the few times they do comment about each other in a public way. That will take a relationship a long way.....It's way harder to do someone dirty or hurt them when you REALLY respect them.

Jay ain't nothing to write home about in the looks department(can't argue with you on that, lol) if you just take him as that, but if you take him in his totality, I think he is attractive. He's always had a certain laid back swagger/confidence,nonchalance,intelligence, and regalness to him. Beyond that, even when his lyrics had a misogynistic bent to them, I never bought him as woman hating. You could tell he had underlying respect for women. (i can spot a real woman hating muthephugger a mile away and he wasn't that).
He always came off as from the projects but not of the projects to me. At the risk of dating myself, I remember him when he was a dj for a one hit wonder rapper named Jaz,back in the day and even then, something about Jay stood out to me. The way he carried himself made him more than the sum of his parts, and made the whole Joe Camel look fade away....lol. For me anyway....

Curious why everyone assumes that Jay has the lion's share of the wealth in that relationship, all the world wide tours, movies, songwriting and product endorsements must put Bey's money up there

I think it's because Jay has income coming in also from other business ventures.
but lets hope dey last, too many celeb marriages break down

Come on Melissa, Haters always find time to Hate. THat's their JOB,lol. That's what the are here to do. Don't let that get you down. As Katt WIlliams says: "if you got 10 people hating on you right now, you need to get to work and try to have 20 mofos hating on you by the summertime.",lol. It usually means you are doing something right.......Like 50 cent said, people always "like" you better when you're phucked up and ashy, lol. When things are going well for you and you are happy, is when the haters usually come crawling out from behind their rocks....

I like them together. Even if they don't last forever they've already done better than most celebrity couples and many normal couples, plus they've stacked their cards in a way that maximizes the chances of a successful relationship.
Congrats J and B.

Melissa, people hate on JZ and say they will have ugly children because JZ has a wider nose and larger lips...more African features basically.
They would much prefer that he looked like dark-skinned Asian-Indian with a nose-job like B's father.
Much better.

Aint nobody hatin!
Large lips and big nose are not necessarily African traits,no more so than someone from Sweden being automatically blonde.
I personally..me PERSONALLY(noone else has to subscribe) do not like JZ's face,I like a certain amount of facial symmetry, thats just me,Beyonce probably thinks he is crazy handsome..good for her...I do know that if he were Jay Z from around the way who worked at KFC this union would never have happened, lol.
She and J probably will go the distance, coz to this day,I still couldnt say for sure whether thay are together, even though they have just gotten married supposedly, such is the extent that their relationship is on the DL.
As for children, they'll probably have very good looking ones as the Knowles gene will sand down the edges of the Carter ones.
As for that pic of Matthew Knowles,he's probably just relieved that one of his daughters is doing ish in the correct order this time..marriage first, then pickney.
