JZ should pay the surviving Beatles instead, considering the source of Oasis hits...anyway, it was a great response to all the recent BS about his appearance.

I havn't read the reviews yet Black-Pride,but my overall feeling is that JZ was surplus to requirements, coz his band were ALL THAT!but as the headliner we had to endure him in order to hear the band.

I think JZ is OK and stuff and for the most part I like how he handles "his" but I wouldn't pay money to hear him MC,I would however part with some green to hear his band.

I like the Jay-Z comment about not worrying about what Noel Gallagher said, because 'he's not known in the US'.

Well for me this is where I thought Niel Gallagher had a point, Rap just doesn't work in that type of venue...I thought Jay z was ok..But Its not what i would pay good money to see at a venue like that... Micheal J, yes, Jill scot yes, Earth wid & fire yes.. even beyonce yes..but Jay Z...sorry i never got it personally!!

And its funny because all the rags were praising Amy's performance but I heard it and it was clearly drug affected and she sounded crap... So I actually wonder if they were praising her name, or what she actually did...likewise Jay Z... If he was the man, and there wasn't a hype..would he have gotten away with that so so performance at Glastonbury I think not!!

I would have paid just to see The Verve. Jay Z was too much of an outcast act. I can imagine it was like going to a rave where the DJ took it upon himself to play soca music non stop for two hours - you'd have to be skunk drunk to tolerate that.

Jay-Z ws not an outcast. Glastonbury have rap acts every year. Its only since the BBC have been all over it has it developed an image as an indie white boy thing as this is what they champion. I used to know of teams of black people that used to go down there from Bristol in the rave days. Also The Roots, Cypress Hill, Public Enemy, Massive Attack, Basement Jacks, Jimmy Cliff, Dizzy Rascal, Manu Chau plus nuff other non-indie acts have played Glastonbury. People were upset because he was headlining but he definately ws not out of plae there.

bb44 - good point, maybe the real issue is Jay-Z/rap this time around was the headline act.
