Paranormal Activity - 03-01-10, 10:36 PM

Fortunately,I didn't pay to see this, someone had a "Chinese"version of it and let me just say, bootlegs have come on leaps and bounds, since even as recent as 5 years ago, bloody hell the quality was ridiculous.

However, once again just like Blair Witch, you have to endure like an hour and a half of pure shyte for the 'money shot',for me the best thing about Blair Witch was the last 15 secs and with Paranormal Activity, there was one shot in it which actually DID scare me,I think they must have edited the trailer for this movie around the reaction to this ONE shot, coz nothing else about it was scary, but props where props are due, that one shot was disturbing TO ME,for others it will be like puh-leeeeeeeeez.

Can't really recommend it as such if you're looking to be scared. If you're looking for real horror an average ride on the #2 train at any time of day will yield far scarier things than this flick.

Well the argument against purchasing these things feels a little flimsy in light of the boot-leggers stepping up their game.

The arguments being that these booty's fund drugs, prostitution, wars, slavery, etc, etc.
So one weighs that up with what actually goes on in REAL Hollywood and the case falls somewhat flat methinks.

I still enjoy the movie going experience and there's no way I would watch something like Avatar or This Is It,on bootleg, but for something like "Hot-Tub Time Machine",which will be released in a few months,I'd be all over those booty's!

Jett, You just touched on a point that I was reflecting on just yesterday after hearing that Avatar the film has just grossed 1 billion, yes a Billion in takings already...

Often we seen everywhere how Pirtacy is killing the Film and Music industry..but my question is... is that really the truth? Given that many of us dip into dodgy websites or buy DVD's from a Chinese person on the downlow... But i argue that it doesn't not detract from cinema in fact it enhanced and encourages lots of us to go and experience the Film in a proper context...

personally speaking I go cinema probably once a month, nd I know many of the BNV users here do the same.. and I guess that many of us reading this also buy or visit dodgy film sites...so what is the truth... Again the same thing was said about Music, yet despite the illegal download..I read somewhere else that there is a now a raise in single sales, based purely on the advent of downloads...

I get the feeling that we are being played by big business on this issue

Indeed,what is the truth??

A big part of Avatar's BILLION dollar revenue is down to the fact that so many people saw it in IMAX-3D,which cost $16[about 10 pounds, still a bargain compared to UK Imax] a pop,James Cameron even made the film critics PAY to see his joint(he knows what he's doing, lol)
