Why is this brilliant movie so underrated?? Since Roots, this must be one movie that makes you want to pick up a rifle and start a revolution in the streets (which is probably why it was banned in a lot of cinemas in the U.S.)!!

Show some love!

It's been out for a few years now. It'sthe true story about a white female who claimed a black man raped her (which was false), leading to mass genocide of African Americans in a small Florida town.Be prepared, because this movie will make you FURIOUS!!

I haven't seen it sold in stores but you can get itfrom Amazon.com or .uk

@Prince Hakeeem...Greetings bro, good to see you about and firing....

"Rosewood". True story. Wicked film. But what I love and identify with is Rhames is a free and independent man and acts like one. Fearless. Not like these beat down negroes who he makes into men. But you have to link that with another serious serious and seriously underatted film directed by my boy Forest Whitaker. The Deacons For Defense...

That film is historically important because harldy anything is known about the Deacons who were one of the baddest black organisations of modern history. After they completed their mission they disbanded and their secrets probably went to the grave with them or is living in the minds of their grandchildren who were given the stories...

Malcolm X and all his talk about self defense came from the Deacons. Very very important set of brothers. Malcolm talked what they did day in and day out in far more dangerous circumstances down south than Malcom ever experienced up north. Deacons are true heroes in the African American history and all serious people should own that film..

White men will sit on those movies because the confused will get wise and stop that gang banging wanker shit when they see how serious black men handle their biz....

Bought them movies long time for my boy. Just in case..a plane lands on my house or car..Never know..

I always wanted to see this movie, I know that they showed it a few months ago on channel 5; but I will probably get the movie out...

Suprised to hear that it was banned in America, considering the fact that most of the cast were on Oprah and they focused the entire show on 'Rosewood'.

Even worse, the descendants only recently got compensation for this atrocious incident.

Blacknet Book Club coming soon...

@ Free - what The Prince actually said was that it was banned in alot of cinemas in the US (which I dont think was the case, because I remember this movie coming out and being advertised).

@Happiness...My last comment was a case of typing waaaaaaaaaaaay too quickly, I did understand the point that Prince Hakeem made...But once again, this film seemed quite well publicised...at least to me...as they discussed this incident and the film on Oprah...but, then I guess it is a part of history that most would prefer to pretend never happened...
