I would think that some studios would know better that some story concepts are better left on thepage, as opposed to being on the silver screen. Conversely, if you have a great story concept and it gets into the hands of a bad director or anuncaring actor, the film can still turn out amess, yet studios will still release something they know is bad to the general public. But with more and more executives scrambling to get their studios to have annual profitable box office figures, anything is likely to make it to the theatres.
Even with the decreasing box office profits, year after year, the movie studios still keep releasing crappy pictures with twice as much advertising dollars as the screen budget, hoping that if nothing more than can create huge profits in the opening weekends. The films never have legs though, and usually decrease on the second weekend, by 50% or more.
What recent films do you feel should have never been made?

HMMM dunno why you got a picture of Blade, I loved that film!! but anyway....
Titanic (soppy predictable and too long winded. SINK already!!)
AI thought I was gonna be sick with that amount of syrup. Walked out of the cinema
Blair Witch thought this would be about Cherie running amok in the forest but alas no. Ive been more scared watching frigggin carebears. And how can you show me a whole film and no witch???
Blair Witch 2 why did I do it to myself???)
Thunderbirds dont make sense without the string puppets. Just looks silly
Godfather 3 What for? How you gonna follow to classics with this??
Kill Bill vol 2 Way to much talking, and the worst last fight ever. How dare QT make me sit through two movies for her to Kill Bill in 5 seconds!! I was robbed.
Flintstones No more need be said
Terminator 3 Made no sense and was complete crap
Planet of the apes (remake). My fellow scientific friends and I spent an hour in the car after that film trying to make it make sense. We drew diagrams of timelines on paper and reasoned till the sun came up but all in all it was a terrible remake and made no sense!!
Alien 4 Come on now you just being greedy!! Stupid stupid stupid. No biological sense and just a terrible plot and really ridicolous premise (cloning in that fashion).
Italian job (remake) The first was so heavy and such a classic with a great ending and the second was terrible and they left out the proper ending!!.
Shane For insulting my intelligence. Shane rides into town for the showdown at the end and rides all day and night. The 10 year old follows him on foot crying and gets there 5 mins after him!!! Im tempted to swear.....
On Dangerous ground Liz Hurleys white south African accent. Ving Rames Nigerian accent. Ice Cube in Africa. Stupid movie. nuff said.
How stella got her groove back. Taye Diggs stupid accent. Taye Diggs incessant smiling.

@ DrunkMonkey
I know you said kids movies don't count but I couldn't let a thread like this go without nominating Scooby Doo 2 (I was able to avoid Scooby Doo 1). Man, not only should that movie never have been made, but it should be a criminal offence to allow it to be shown on any medium. I put it way at the top of my list of worst movies ever seen, but as I said I had to see it for the sake of family unity.
I tell you this if there is a Scooby Doo 3, family unity may very well suffer if the only alternative is to see the film.
I agree with Kunjufu about Eddie Murphy films post 48 hours...not counting voice overs for Shriek, his best work for years.
Can anyone remember the name of that film with Robin Williams about a robot that wanted to be human, and which thanks to advanced technology he was able to be transformed into a human being? I realised by the end of the film I had been transformed into a zombie. Well, that is only explanation I have as to why I sat through the whole of that load of tosh.

The core, Fear.com, The Ring, Ice Cube movie withSanta (can't think of the name), All Hannibal Hector movies, All movies with Eddie Griffin, All movies with Lisa Ray, Oh Gosh, that horrible movie where a group of friends (all men) meet at a cabin in the woods and some virus infects them... can't think of the name, but Morgan Freeman was in it. Okay, here is the rest, 28 Days Later, Cabin Fever, Brown Sugar, Purple Rain, Phone Booth, All Texas Chain Saw movies besides the last one, Show Girls, Jimmy Neutron, Monster Ball, Swat, and I can go on and on and on and on and on.
