Where was this interview was it on TV or news article? Do you know who took the interview. I'm just wondering in case it's one of those "interviews" that claimed a person said this or that with regards black men and relationships! If Ms Lathan did actually say this then she's lost the little respect I would have had for her. True, she's no Angela Bassett so I hope she hasn't burnt her bridges before they've been built!

I'm really sick and tired of the reckless and unprofessional journalism on the part of idiots who overexaggerate and make the problems appear far more pervasive than they are. It's too bad so many weak minded individuals swallow that.

@AQ
The interview was conducted by a Diane Parker, a respected journalist. I'd copy and paste it but I don't want to get an interracial debate going.

Sorry .. I meant ...'Something New'
I'm not sure if this has been reviewed..but I recently saw this and was pleasantly surprised.. I thought it would be yoru ordinary cross-over film, and that Sanaa has sold out..but I can see why she did it.. it's reminiscent of the type sof characters she plays ie women are all kind of rigid and need to relax/let go..challenging in terms of emotions.. she made it believeable..and white man did well considering HE was only guy in the film..
I am not advocating those types of relationships as I think they are a MINEFIELD especially on our sides, but I felt they touched enough on some of the things people consider/must go through when making mad choices like that .. truly was good to see it from a black persons perspective ..abliet a bit sweeter than reality ..but good none-the-less ..

This film gets released in the UK November 21st (I think) according to the imbd website.
I can hear it already, the commercial clowns being dotun, valley fontaine, nick ferarri, vanessa feltz pumping this issue in their ignorant talkshows. I can already visualise the sell out people who are going to ring in talking about how great this film is as it breaks down another barrier in mult**ultural**m blah blah blah blah

Since I started the thread, I watched the movie - loved it. Even my husband, who is a Black male, loved it also. Was funny, romantic and fairytale-ish. It apparently didn't do all that well at the box office, but I can't say it was a bad film.
Just as Black men have done, Sanaa can date whoever she likes.
