This is also another pile of SH*T from Hollywood. I knew before I went in that this wasn't going to be very Die Hard like, you could tell from the trailers and the clips that they were going for a different vibe, but they didn't even seem to have bothered to try and make it fit. Even in the moments between action, Bruce hardly seemed like John McLaine.
The action scenes were more about spectacle than tension. That's fine but I don't think Len's direction of them was very good. I can see that it wasn't a blurry mess, but they didn't seem as well paced or put together as the kind of overblown action you get in True Lies or even The Rock.(Ohh they showed this again last night on telly)
For me, the problem wasn't the lack of plot or a silly plot, you expect that. But you do need a story with bit of structure and pacing in an action film to draw you in - a defined goal, a bit of intrigue, maybe a slight twist - so that the set-pieces build up to a finale. And I don't think this had that....wait for the DVD
