Casmoney Et al.....
All i can say is wow some of the films you've missed are truely classics....
I'd say must see has to be the following..
The good the bad and ulgy.....(this is a classic western, funny, exciting and damn good)
Jaws 1 (classic story telling, well made and dramatic.) a must see, forget the rest they are crap!!
Misery..for the one scene with the sledge hammer, if you're eye don't water then you aint alive...
Alien & Aliens/...are two of THE classic Sci fi/Horror movie i must see and must own without doubt...
Godfather 1 & 2....long very long but bloody good ..
Roots..well I'm amazed you aint seen this yet....the picture quality might not stand up to the test of time..but the story of Kinte kunte, Chicken George & Kizzy well if you don't feel anything then you're dead...trust me..
New Jack city yet another classic of 80's Black American culture, the prequel if you like to whats happening today..a very good morality tale.. a bit cheezy in parts but good..
Colour Purple..first half good...the last third utter bollox, someone in hollywood ruined what should have been a masterpiece of post slavery America....but the ****ed up the last reel with too much cheeziness!!!
The maltese Falcon..i've seen so many times never get tired of it..Classic B/w movie just brilliant...a must see!!! Like wise Unforgiven..a slow burn movie the builds up, but when it goes wow....Clint Eastwood at his very best!!!!
The others ion Cash's list i've seen but don't rate as must seen movies...\
As for Evil dead..my advice don't waste your money renting this total piece of crap, the shining is overrated arthouse bollox....
Scarface...well what can say except, the accent by al pacino is piss poor, akin to dick van dike doing a cockney accent in bedknobs and broom sticks...'unbelievable'... but as a piece of light rubbish is pure genius with some classic one liners....
The first Blues brother is yet another must see..not a classic movie in my view but bloody funny....with some wicked music and all star black singing cameos..its a whoes who of black singers ...a must for that alone!!!!

Cash some of those you absolutely HAVE to see. Others I'd advise you STRONGLY to miss. The ones I don't mention are debatables lol.
Good, Bad and Ugly is in my top 5 movies of all time. Serious tings! Very long but VERY enjoyable.
New Jack City is okay and good and original in it's time but it's nothing you haven't seen already. Some classic lines (no gun factories in harlem, nobody here owns a poppy field etc)
YOU HAVEN'T SEEN ALIENS!!! woah. Well tbh just watch the first two and stuff the others. The first two are genius and brilliant, the others dire. Three is okay in it's own way but the next ones are so stupid and cheesy it upset me.
Skip Terminator 3, it makes no sense timeline wise and there was no need for it. Crap! Almost as poor as the planet of the apes remake. Yes that bad.
Skip Birth of a nation (what's wrong with you?) Why would you wanna see that?
Dr Strangelove I couldn't get through, it was too surreal and there are better anti war movies around. It was like clockwork orange. I couldn't go past about 20 minutes without kissing my teeth and switching it off.
You need a strong boredom threshold to get through the LONG and rambling aimless, Gone With the Wind That is a yawn fest with unbelievable dense characters.
Keep forgetting about Godfather 3. Pretend it didn't happen and you don't know about it lol
Bamboozled was okay but don't expect brilliance. It started out making one point then got lost near the end.
Die Hard 2 3 and 4 You are blaspheming!!! Go and watch them immediately. Bruce runs tings. Two in the airport is cool. Three in NY is okay and the latest is HEAVY. Transformers stole it's thunder but trust me, it was a BIG boy action movie in it's own right.
If you missed Jaws at the time then there's no point now. With 2007 hindsight the shark looks so silly and plastic it's hard to see how people were once scared. Really you'll collapse in giggles AT the movie. Miss
Don't bother with the Star Wars prequels. There is too much crap about them and very little of the magic of the originals. The acting from Anakin and Amidala is so so so bad you won't believe it. Like watching an S-Club TV show. Jar Jar Binks. Say no more
Lawrence of Arabia is very long but worth it I reckon.
Unforgiven is heavy. Eastwood is a great movie maker f'real. If you like westerns in general you'll like this one. It puts fire on cliche and is grittier, downright dirty.
Incog, Blade Runner might be a bit dated now but it's a scifi classic and is very deep. So many themes going on there. The notable one is wether we (as individuals) are merely the sum of our experiences, a collection of memories with a direction... or a something more. How do we define life from artificial life and how do we confront the artificial? I still like that film.

I've had Old Boy on my coffee table for ages now, since I watch and enjoyed Lady Vengeance but haven't got round to watching it for some reason.

Watcher - well you know I'm a man of the mind so that's nice to know. Themes like that are timeless.
Driving Miss Daisy - I don't know but something just tells me I'll enjoy it
