It's been referenced in so many things and i've yet to see it,it's one of those pop culture things that just passed me by,kinda like never seeing Casablanca or something....anyway I bought it for a fiver off e-bay,will come back later and review it.
I aint asking for nothing, just open the door and i\'ll take it myself-James Brown.

Yep it was good and creepy on a couple of levels that had nothing to do with the main one.....*shudders*.
I would have liked to have experienced this cold though, without being aware of the "money line" and all that implies, still I think I would have twigged fairly early, considering that one of the opening scenes it says 40 million people living in NYC!
Zoiks!

Now when this flim first came out, I would have said the premise of the flim was totally unbelievable..could never happen..imagine now in the 231st Century and that idea isn't so far fetched is it in todays climate....?

during the various famines of ethiopia i don't rememer seeing mass cannibalism...but then again, they always had famine relief from the west ( that won't be happening with the bio fuels though).

Another thing which struck me about the film was the casting, that is to see say,it was so evenly cast in terms of race.....and this was 1972...I dont think ive seen a flick in modern times this evenly cast, without it being a big deal or even highlighted.

Make Room! Make Room - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Some how the exclamation mark ( ! ) got outside the link. Sorry!
I had to put it in manually. This website doesn't like exclamation marks at the end of an URL.
The story Soylent Green was derived from didn't have the cannibalism twist. But the Twilight Zone story wasn't really cannibalism. Aliens just have good taste.
