This morning my system froze and I had to reboot. When windoze re-loaded it began to scan for disk errors but froze there too.
However, the sound card kicked in with LOUD, and I MEAN LOUD WHITE NOISE.
It got me thinking and I did a search and found this:

@ Hrunopi What sort of info do they want from me? what would they do with it?....
Since last week my internet sometimes freezes (or refuses togo to newpages anyway) and I wondered why..... MSN doesn't have any answers and virus scan is negative.

These people have been 'eavesdropping' on the internet/web for years. They employ user profiles from which they build a portfolio of users most likely to constitute 'a risk'.
I use ntl broadband and when that crap happens i turn my pc off and start again. Your dropoff may be caused by heavy user useage, whatever, if all you're doing is downloading stuff and not running an Al Quada cell then you've got no problems!!

I don't think they actually monitor every byte of information that passes through your connection. I think all that bill was about, is that the law can say to an ISP who was using that IP address and the ISP has to tell them.

Agreed, but they do employ profiling resources that aid them in deciding whose emails to watch/record............

Ah yes emails, thats different, maybe it was just me, but I got the impression that they were talking about monitoring all data. Like MSN, forumsand any other form of communication.

Who is to say they are not? And after all, why wouldn't they? If Microsoft can hash your systems hardware and create a profile of that, then why wouldn't any intelligence agency monitor EVERYTHING transpiring on the web.
They'd only need to have a target to focus on.

Yup! this is true, that's why if one has cable internet, whereby bandwith is shared with neighbors, it's advisable to lock your system down like fort Knox. Outside of government & isp eaves-dropping, cable internet users are vulnerable to hacking.
