APPLE MAC OR WINDOWS PC...........WHICH IS BETTER THAN THE OTHER? JUSTIFY YOUR REASON. Personally i will go for PC because of its ease of repair and speed, However MAC surpasses PC in terms of ease of set-up
Also is it true that Mac are better for desktop publishing than PC's? - Just an argument I am having with one of my knowitall aquaintances.

Dunno brov on what knowledge do you base that assumption ? was it the inconsistent sreies of tests the 'gadget show' ran on the pc and mac? i hope not ...blkscholar
Iheard that on the gadget showch4 they did some tests to see which was better and the pc won hands down! Did anyone see it?
Ihave to use macs for graphics (quark/photoshop)and I've been thinking about gettinga maclaptop. I looked in pc world I saw one for £799 12" screenand the other with a 14.1" screen was £899. Does anyone know where I can get one cheaper? or if it's worth buying now or shouldI wait?
Was that addressed to me - if so I did not say I believe it - I said an aqaintance said it - I have no idea whether it is true or not!

If you go to one of those price comparision sites like kelcoo.uk or pricerunner.com,then you'd be able to judge what you would buy cheaper.
Be warned though - some of the companies described on these sitesoffer better service than others - just like on the high streets.

It depends on what you will be using your computer for mostly. If you are into graphics and all types of art and music then you will want a Mac. If you are just for regular word processing and office stuff then a PC is better for that.

This argument has been going on for years. It all boils down to one thing. If you want a Mac get a Mac if you want a pc get a pc. However the Pc does have some major advantages.
Pc's have the edge in performance, Apples claims of the fastest computer have been prove wrong. But the difference is very small.
Only around 5% of the world population use Macs, the rest mostly pc's. If you ever need help. You are likely going to find help easier if you own a pc.
The old myth that Macs are better for graphics and DTP is rubbish. Do you really think a major software company would release software for 5% of a market. Quark, Adobe, the pc has most of them and equivilents.
Pc's are a lot cheaper. I can more or less build one for £200 now, quality is awful, but it will happily doany family's computing needs.
I guess Mac's look nicer, but that never bothers me too much.
