Seen this on another forum. will this be true for blacknet aswell

If you have installed Windows XP SP2, you must add the .....web site to your trusted sites, and to the list of manage sites under the privacy section for managing cookies. If you do not add the site to both of these area, you will have cookie and login problems.

SP2 for XP has increased it security efforts, and the above will be the norm for most sites you visit which utilize cookies for authentication. Thanks.

So what you are saying is that its worth installing Microsoft Windows Service Pack 2. I discovered from a separate websites that if you install some software applications like Macromedia MX, Norton Anti-Virus etc on SP2, you would inevitably encounter some dificulties on the basis that SP2 comes with its own firewall. Is this really true as i'm apprehensive of installing SP2 because i have Norton antivirus and Macromedia MX. Could you help me out on this?

I installed sp2 on my personal laptop and work PC last week, some issues with the in house database, so we are holding fire on deploying it to the mass.

No problem as yet with personal laptop, all the problems with software is caused by firewall blocking it, so if you have a firewall already installed on your PC switch off the windows firewall (network connections -> right click your connection - > Advanced -> turn off ICF (Internet Connection Firewall), everything should be ok.

If you still sceptical about installing it hold fire for a while and I will let you know once we finish testing SP2 at work-----

Ever since i installed windows xp service pack 2 on my computer system, i have been getting disconnected from the internet every 10 minutes. Does anyone knows how to tackle this problem? May be i should just delete service pack 2 or something. Damn, bill gates.

I have 5 computers, all on SP2 and the only issues any of them have isdownloading images froma digital camera of mine. I've since found a fixfor it. Other than that, there isn't much I couldn't handle.

I suspect that if there is a problem disconnecting from the web since SP2, there are other issues at work on that computer. Like spyware fighting for control of your dialup port. I would recommend heading out to Giant Software and getting a copy of their antispy software. It's the best thing I've seen in a long time to fix spyware problems.

I normally just download the re-distributable copy. Sometimes also called server admin copy. That means that I can put it on as many pcs as I like and if a friend needs it, I can easily burn it to a CD.

You just download it and run it, heres the link:-

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

If you are doing maybe only 1 or 2 pc's, Its not worth it. But anymore, it saves a lot of time.

The only thing I can think of that you may have a problem with after the update are devices like your scanner (if you have one) and your digital camera. (If you have one) That is if they use your USB ports. Other than that, you should be ok. Make sure you clean your temp folder of crap you don't need and that you have enough free diskspace to do the update.

Other than that, I wouldn't worry about SP2.
