starting up problems

When I start my computer (on XP) I get the error msg:

WindowsSystem32ConfigWindows is corrupt.

To repair damaged file use the original setup CD-ROM.

does anyone know what i can do, thankz.

ps, i lost the original cd.

you have to clear the whole system again if you cant find the originalcd recovery disk, or oder a new one if you got a warrantyi think the same thing happened to me some time ago my promblem was that other ppls recovery disk did not work on my ltp. whats your pc make.

I'm not sure if a system restore will help you out, but if you have lost the cd, I don't see any other way of getting it to work.
