Anyone... person here that use or know about....Zonealarm ?.. just.. want to know how good it was for ur system... and if it works as good norton.

as some people say its better than norton...........................?

I ...also have the same idea that norton, slows down my computer too... that the reason i need to change it.... but dont know how good zonealarm its..

I use,ZoneAlarm as my firewallas Norton was slowing down my system. I use AVG anti virus and Spy Bot search and destroy.

They all work really well as long as you update regularly etc.

Personal preference here but I've many years experience with Mr. Peter Norton and his applications. If I were you, I'd steer clear of Norton Utilities or Internet Security and only pay for their standalone Anti Virus program. And if you're looking for a good "free" firewall, then ZoneAlarm is for you. Used tegether (with careful consideration to settings) they are excellent protection.

Also, Norton AntiVirus has a "pseudo firewall" of sorts by way of a feature called "Internet Worm Protection".

Its.. looks like i will delete norton .....thought i was the only person...that had problems with slowcomputer ..running... norton in all its.. hype is not that great....

I am currently running Norton and i have found it has indeed slowed my system. Which other anti virus programmes (free lol) apart from AVG (used already) are available?

Zone Alarm is great firewall, if you're on broadband you definitely need a firewall. The Windows one isnt good enough. I had some issues on my system where Zone alarm sent the CPU usage alarmingly high, but this problem doesnt affect everyone. So I would adivse you to give a try for yourself and see how it goes.

I have two PC's and I have McAffee and ZoneAlarms and SAdly the freeware ZoneAlarms actually catches more attacks than the McAffee. I use to own Nortons but it screwed my system up and had to do a clean install which really sucked. You can't lose with Zone Alarms
