i have Adobe photoshop elements and Adobe Indesign.

does anyone know how i can blur a section of an image. i basically have a photo that i want to blur the face on a pic. I have gone through the tutorial that elements come with but no help i even went to their website

any help would be great or any site

Using photoshop, you need to mask off the face you want to blur. You can do this in two ways:

1. using the quick mask tool, just press the Q button on your keyboard, select the airbrush and cover the area you wish to mask, which will appear red when you start to apply the airbrush. Make sure you cover all the area you wish to mask leave no gaps. Once you are happy with the area you have covered press the Q button again and you will see the area you airbrushed is now selected. Go to filter apply the blur you wish to apply. Note sometimes you could need to invert the selection incase the area selected is the part you did not airbrush.

2. the second way is a bit fiddly you need to use the pen tool and go around the face linking points all the way around until youy come back to where you started and close the path. Now go to the paths menu which is next to the layers menu, you will see the path you just drew. Right click it and choose "make selection" you should see the area you drew around selected and you can apply the blur filter. If you make a mistake you can go to the history panel and undo what you did.
