Slightly more expensive but far better quality and features than what you get with the DS.

If you do a good search on google you'll find the cheapest psp available, especially now in the sales.

Not true actually, some do most don't though.

Also I'd advise against getting one unless you want to be charging it up everytime you use it. Secondly piracy is absolutely killing the machine, they'll be no games out for it by this time next year because it will be dead or next to dead by then, not to mention it takes an age to load the damn thing. When your nearest rival outsells your console7 to 1 then people should know what time it is. There is already talk of a PSP 2 since Sony already know they messed up big time on this one.

The DS isthe biggest selling console out there, out selling even the PS3, XBOX 360 and PSP put together, why do you think they're always out of stock, especially in the USA and Japan.

The PSP has better graphics and that it, the DS has more games and a better variety of them which are actually fun, and that are not rehashes of PS1 and PS2 games.

According to a survey from Famitsu, the Nintendo DS has pretty much tramped over the PSP in 2006 in Japan. The DS and DS Lite sold an impressive 7,5 million units so far this year, while the PSP managed to sell 1,6 million units. On the software side, DS games sold over 27 million copies this year, compared to only 2,8 million PSP games. The difference is smaller in the US and Europe, but the DS still remains on top by a good margin. IGN.

Karl Jeffery, the CEO of Climax (developer of ATV Offroad Fury), has made known his worries surrounding the current performance of the PSP. He is worried that the Nintendo DS is trouncing the PSP and that Sony is doing very little to rectify this situation. In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Jeffery

Companies are releasing their quarterly earnings these days, and that includes Sony and Nintendo as well. Sony has announced a 94% drop in profits in Q2 2006, due to the large battery recall (almost 10 million batteries recalled over the past few months) and the expensive PlayStation 3 manufacturing process.

Nintendo on the other hand, saw profits triple in Q2 2006, mainly driven by strong Nintendo DS hardware and softwares sales. Over 10 million DS consoles were sold from April-September 2006, compared to 3,5 million last year. Both companies will release their highly anticipated next-gen consoles within a month, so things can still change for both sides. (Reuters)

Since its launch in March 2005, the Nintendo DS has sold over 7 million units in Europe, with six games selling over a million copies, including New Super Mario Bros, Animal Crossing, and Mario Kart DS. The top selling title is the same as in Japan and the US, Brain Training, selling over 5 million copies worldwide. Perhaps the most interesting statistic is that 44% of DS owners are women, an impressive number for any videogame company.

It's pretty much finished, and the most popular game in Japanese history hasn't even come out on the DS yet, which it will soon. If you want a console that will have more games on it that you will like then I'd go for the DS. If you want a console that will be dead or replaced within two years then get aPSP, or save yourself the hassle and get the cheaper PS2 which loads faster has cheaper games and is cheaper than the handheld version that is supposed to imitate it.

I would go with the DS Lite opposed to the PSP. They games on the PSP are very male focussed and as far asIknow the 'brain games' are mainly on th DS Lite anyway.

I have the Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? and I feel this 'game' makes the price of the DS worth it on it own. You can spend as little as 5 mins or hours on it, and you definately won't get bored with it after a while. Ive had it for a few weeks now, and i'm on it every day training my old brain (from a shameful 64yrs oldto a current age27 years old - 20years being ideal)

There are a couple of others coming out in 2007: The Professors Brain Trainer: Logic, and The Professors Brain Trainer: Memory

Good Luck

Got both. The DS absolutely destroys the PSP. Not only are the loading times ridicuolous on the PSP, but the games are mostly quite poor.

The DS is fun to use and play.

Get it.
