Few people are buying them in the U.S. its being out sold by the PS2. My buddy bought one, played with it the first day and havent played it since. Few good games and few exclusive rights to titles like they had with the PS2. He plays Xbox360 the most and to a lesser extent Wii. PS3 collects dust.
But the graphics are better on PS3

usually wait a year or two until the price drops dramatically and more importantly, the library of games has a chance to grow. Also game designers take a little time to fully exploit a new machines capabilities so brand new games won't be that amazing.
£400 is way to much to pay for any console. You can get a serious laptop for that money.

I don't plan on getting the PS3 until next year sometime. The collection of games isn't extensive or impressive enough for me to purchase one.

Yup, and don't play it.
I actually think the Xbox 360's graphics are better, the frame rate seems abit faster to me.
And no it's not worth it either, but I was given mine.

I've just read in the Financial Times that Sony is planning to slash the cost of its new PS3 by fifty pounds...and by the looks of this article they may cut more of the retail price...
You know I'd be really pissed if I had gone out out, waited in line for hours and then paid 400 plus nicker for this machine and then barely six months later they cut the bloody price...jokers!!!!

Stick to PCs for games and all that, no point buying an internet compatiable computer wannabe games console when you can build your own... have never been a fan of consoles, keyboards are even better game pads than most, minus the PS one prehaps as its comfortable but you don't get the functions... nothing beats keyboards for stratergy games none of that hold down L2 while flicking R3 and tapping the star button crap.

The only thing the PS3 game console has is the ability to play blu-ray DVDs nothing else stands out. I don’t buy games consoles ever since I got burnt real bad, when I went out and paid 129.99 for a black Gamecube with one game (super Mario sunshine). I regret making that purchase to this day. I just turned 18 as well.
It hurts me just thinking about it

wii all the way. forget the ps3. i never even touched my ps2. for two years. same games and same boring themes. now we is what a game is all about, fun.
i almost got punched by a friend for saying the ps3 was a waste of money. these people never get it. it's gonna be the same as the ps2' meaning you'll get bored of it easily. the funnest game console i ever had was the n64 even though they say it was a flopp, i still loved it.
the truth is im getting tired of consoles. i'd rather buy a ds. i havnt had a game boy in ages.

I gotta shed a tear over the Dreamcase. I had one and it was a great machine. Since that generations ended I've not been as interested in games.

I have one, and apart from enjoying myself playing Motorstorm online in particular, it also has other capabilities like as w media server watch all my films on the pc thru the tv using the ps3, access web pages and even buy games without having to leave the house...the games are a bit sparse admittedly, but there is always room for growth...and no doubt better games will come out in time...anticipating the fifa 08 that should be out shortly
