maat tell me what level you were thinking on
because i dont mean to watermark the pics as i take them
but once i have loaded them on my laptop i would want to put a watermark them with something before i upload them to my blog
does that make things clearer as to what i mean?

Well usually I just add whatever I want in the background to the header and footer. Go to View on the toolbar and select Header and footer. It doesn't necessary have to be at either end of the page. It can go anywhere you want.
I just looked it on on help and another way you can do it is:
1. On the Format menu, point to Background, and then click Printed Watermark.
2. Do one of the following:
To insert a picture as a watermark, click Picture Watermark, and then click Select Picture. Select the picture you want, and then click Insert.
To insert a text watermark, click Text Watermark, and then select or enter the text that you want.
3. Select any additional options that you want, and then click Apply.

Sis,
This way is using Word so I'm not sure if you could still upload it in that format. For the picture alone, I was having a go of using a similar method on a Jpeg pic but I can't remember how I put the text on the image before. If I work it out I'll let you know but I'm hoping someone else knows an easier way you can do it.
