Your Skin and The Benefits of Drinking Water -
11-09-09, 09:15 AM
Beautiful, baby smooth skin is something everyone desires. Though we were gifted with a beautiful skin when we were born but over the layers, pollution, unhealthy eating habits and our lifestyle has ruined our skin. The answer to a beautiful glowing skin is mother nature, go back to nature and you will be surprised to see what it has in store for you. The very basic gift of nature - Water is the best friend of your skin. Water intake cleanses and detoxifies the body, it keeps the skin hydrated.
Drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water everyday, water flushes away the toxins and will make your skin glow. Water is the carrier of nutrients to, it carriers nutrients to ever cell of your body and is also known to improve blood circulation.
Our body also gets water from some watery fruits and vegetable so if you eat water melons, cucumber etc everyday you can cut down your 8 glasses to 6 or 7. To know whether you are taking adequate quantity of water, check the colour of your urine. It should not be dark, if it is light pale yellow then your water intake is perfectly in place.
Water will keep your complexion smooth and glowing but if you have dry skin problem you would need some external skin care treatment. Water can hydrate the skin but it cannot fulfil the requirement of oil. Water also has another advantage, it helps in losing weight.
Intake of sufficient quantities of water improves metabolism and aids digestion, this is turn leads to burning the fat quickly. It is even better to drink warm water, if you can tolerate. Warm water is always preferred over cold water, it has a cleansing effect on the system.
Inspite of knowing the benefits of drinking water, some people cannot drink plain water. If you are one of them then it mix some fruits with water and make a water shake not a milk shake.

For years now I've mainly just drunk water! Love it cold though! Years ago I would drink more fizzy or sweet stuff but can't do so now. Water after a meal is just the BEST...! People who say they CAN'T drink plain water are spoilt for choice. If they were dying for thirst would they say "No thanks! Where's the cola?!"

I just don't buy the hype of drinking plenty of water for this great-looking skin people may desire. It is just genetics. I know people who drink nothing but soda and they have flawless glowing skin, and even a physique some would drool over. There may be things you can do to help like exercise, implementing both food and skin regiments, and perhaps even drinking water. However, I have to say that I just don't believe the hype.

Shemsi,
everybody I know who lives in Miami looks at least 5 years younger than their age...even my family in orlando looks healthy...
that may have something to do with what you're seeing
lot of black people are genetic wonders though...that part is true......eat terribly, drink, smoke...and still look great...

It's a myth that you have to drink 8 or more glasses of water a day to have healthy skin and/or to survive unless you do daily activities that lessen the hydration of your body. If you eat a lot of water based fruits and vegetables then you're already getting a lot of the fluid your body needs.

I don't even find that to be the case. There are many groups of people, quite nomadic, who live off of grain and the meat they kill who have the smoothest skin you will ever see. Many are in parts of Pakistan and India, as well as amongst the Masai and Tigre...some of the most gorgeous people you will ever see. Yet, they consume a small fraction of water (whether directly or through food), as "recommended" by Western society in order to sell more bottles of water and continue polluting the environment.
