Well said well said ......I have said it over and over again on forums leave the junk food cr*p alone its frying up the brain cells. The high road wouldn't be a certain London Road in South London because when I recently passed through there I think it deserves the title of Junk Food city chicken take away shops literally next door to each other all competing for business and who can sell the cheapest plate of cr*p.

Btw you are correct about KFC they had to take the chicken out of their name because a bird with a extra wing growing on its chest and maybe a third leg probably growing out of its arse is not a chicken. Imagine and we have the cheek to laugh at the 3 eye fishes in portrayed in The Simpsons cartoon but do not bat an eyelid about eating 3 legged and 3 winged chickens.

Anyway you know what they say if you want to kill us off mess around with the chicken the majority of us can not do without the chicken.

Talking of chicken I wonder how our American cousins are coping with the beautiful xmas present that go delivered to them from UK in form of Mad Cow Disease.

So I guess that big scare they had a few years ago about KFC selling mutant chicken wasn't a rumour after all?

Anyway I don't see why I should pay £3.00 for some greasy fowl that's been dead for half a century when I can pay that same amount for 15 pieces of FRESH chicken from the market around the corner from where I live.

Nothing can be trusted nowadays did you know how many people have been prosecuted for re-selling chicken that has been declared for pet food onto the public for human consumption. You must've seen all the programmes on the meat for pet food being bleached and cleaned up then re-packaged and sold to Major food stores for human comsumption, I know Tesco was one of the stores this chicken had been sold to. Also don't think red meat is safe as well so many illegal slaughter houses have been found that has been slaughtering animals in unhygenic surrounding and do not have any proper equipment for slaughter. Just one man in a barn hacking away at these animals and it gets worst the animals do not have the government stamp to stay they have passed the test as meat fit to eat.

On a lighter note how is your allotment and when you get it treasure it for it may be your own grown veg that is the fine line between your good health and bad health.niceone.gif

I remember a friend of mine at evening classes told me to never eat from those chicken takeaway shops as he worked in one during the day and said the chicken when unloading from the vans goes straight into the flour and spices for coating they are not even washed or cleaned.

This really wouldn’t surprise me – We have a canteen at work I have seen the cook take the chicken from the box it was delivered in – dip it into the flour, then straight in to the oil – as you can imagine anything lurking on that chicken is fried with the chicken to add that extra bit of flavour.

On the KFC side of things I NEVER eat that rubbish neither wilI I be feeding it to my children or in fact any other type of fast food. When I was growing the closest thing to fast food to my recollection, was Wimpy and I remember that it was treat for me and my sisters to go there for our birthdays (aaaaahhh we were poor!) on the menu was fried eggs, sausages and chips followed by knicker-bocker-glory! Yummy!

My father was a baker and we kids spent many a Saturday moulding and shaping dough in obscure shapes.

Whem McDonalds first opened in my high street my mother thankfully scorned it and would never allow us to eat there and being the obedient children that we were, we never did (well not so that she would find out!)

Anyway, the bottom line is, parents need to educate their children, take them back to basics in the kitchen. Let them see food properly prepared. Teach them how to cook and bake and how to ENJOY the kitchen. Teach them about herbs and spices. Teach them to buy fresh produce and to be aware of the ingredients in processed foods. As a result of my mother and fathers input I enjoy cooking and baking, I’m not the world’s greatest, but I enjoy it! I hope my daughter (who is 18 months) will share my love. Children are naturally inquisitive, without them even realising it, we will be giving them the tools to a healthy lifestyle.

Don’t mean to preach but this is something that I feel very passionate about!

Now only a fool would be stupid enough to think that all these contaminated food came in pieces, some of them are WHOLE CHICKENS baby that are only fit for animal consumption and people have bleached them and re-distributed them into shop/supermarkets. Now sweety when you buy your red meat do you really believe it is that colour naturallyand some form of dying process has not been added to make it look healthier (and not old and discoloured) and redder to YOUR blinded eyes.

But you continue to do as you do for there is a saying...."IF YOU DON'T THE MESSAGE THEN IT WASN'T MEANT FOR YOU".....get it. So enjoy to your hearts content but remember to ask before you buy the following..........

A very good entry - but how can we be sure what is an urban myth and what is not? - Headless chickens or not, this is still not taking away from the fact that this food is unhealthy junk!

I didn;t ignore it! In fact I mentioned it to my friend while we were in the supermarket today. It made her change her mind about getting the kids a take away tonight. Instead she cooked them a wholesome dinner....

So see Mr.Banks you cant change all of the people all of the time...but sometimes you can change them enough to make a difference.

The irony of this little tale is that after dinner a friend popped round with a "KFC Bargain Bucket" for all her family......As a suprise Treat
