Dudu Osun black soap does what it says on the tin! I dont think it only originates from Ghana because as far as I know it is a traditional Yoruba soap. Anyways, I bought mine from Nigeria ( brought about 300 bars back with me). You can get it from any Nigerian food shop in Brixton as they import from Africa every week, Anothervery goodtreatment for skin is sea clay which you can buy from any Nigerian shop(it is refered to as chalk and we also eat it). They cost about 20p each and when soaked and used as a face mask tightens and smoothens the skin leaving behind soft babylike skin (especially where there are problems with spots and roughness. Another good beauty tip is palm oil which we also use in cooking (it has a deep orange/red colour) youadd some to your bath very occasionally and it gives incredible smooth skin, in fact most Nigerian and indeed west african cremes (both hair and skin) are made with palm oil. Hope you find them useful, good luck.

well i bought some dudu osun bars from manchester when i visited on tuesday and i have been using them since then, havent seen a great deal of difference so far but it is early days.
Im using olive oil after showering at the moment to soothe dryness of my skin and hope that this will help in clearing of the skin.
chi i haven heard of the sea clay before?
hmm maybe it is something i should look into, i am so sick of the area in which i live, it is so hard to find nigerian producsts the only ehtnic store in my area is an afro caribean, and although ti sells african products it is very small and the choice is minimal. I mena i had to get a coach ticket for £15.50 travel for 3 and a half hours on a coach to manchester just to buy some black soapconfused3and other stuffs for my hair. dont get me wrong, it was good for some shopping but man.
I feel like i live in the dessert or something cos it woukld be easier finding products and stuffs from the dessert

Alata Samina (African Black Soap) as we call it in Asante Twi actually
means the soap (samina) of the Nigerians (Alata). I believe it originates from Nigeria.

In Manchester you can get it at "Anchesteral Hetritage" which is a Market Stall in Hulme Market Hall (Unit 41855)off thePrincess Road, near the Asda, both the Dudu-Osun and the Natural stuff that is not mass produced, imported from Ghana. They also do Pure Shea butter.
Hope it helps you Sisblkscholar

I tried Dudo Osun, with bad results -my face and scalp became very ithcy... so I gave up it for a while. Then in a last try, I used the ghanian black soap, and I ahven't stopped using it since!

It is my only shampoo and body soap... I like to blend it in with other things:
|
Quote:
|
Make the aroma blend first:
|
Quote:
2 tablespoons favourite moisturising oil (I like wheatgerm or hemp seed oil)
5 drops tea tree eo
5 droips eucalyptus eo
|
Quote:
Mix well.
Add mixture to 2 handfuls of crushed black soap.
Add 2 teaspoons purified water
Crush all together.
|
Quote:
Use your hands to make it into bars of black soap.
Leave overnight to air dry before using.
|
Quote:
|
This is the basic recipe, but I often change the eo's to suit my taste and aroma experience.

Hi Everyone, Just to let you know I've been reading this thread with interest and decided to get some of this soap. Some people are selling it on eBay - just put in a search for black soap and you will see it.
I have just bought two bars and a pot of pure shea butter.

Hello. I'm Filipino, and I was wondering if I could use this soap because I'm thinking of buying one. Thanks.

been using DuDu Osun for a long time now. incredible results as my skin used to be very oily, and i used to break out on my back. tried all the usual suspects like neutrogena, clearasil, etc.. until my aunty bought 20 bars for me.
my skin is smooth, even tone, and feels soft, all my blemishes are gone, i dont break out anymore.. and the smell is superb.
i reccomend it.banana.gif
