It depends on the person and how strong their mind is.
I know people who've kicked thier crack habit (or were pretty convincing) after years....and then I know people who can't miss a day without playing the lottery.
Weed has been a substance of choice for me ever since I was 11...especially since I don't drink anymore.
I found it better than any type of asprine for head-aches...better than any type of pain-killer for work or athletic injuries.
In my opinion, Stickey-Ickey is a cure-all if one ever existed.
But I don't "need" it and have found myself doing without for months if I'm anticipating a piss-test for work.

I don't think it necessarily leads to stronger drugs. It did for me, but then I was a curious youngster. Of all drugs weed is the most beneficial because it can make you think. I don't use it anymore but there are people close to me who do and they are good people.By comparison, the one heroin user I know used to be areally niceperson but is now a giant morass of negativity.

stronger drugs
hmmm
I think weed is a strong drug
I have never taken it, but i know a few close to me that do
they wake up they want a spliff, every 4 hours , memory loss
and yes ciggis are worse, but thats not the point, we do not need harsh stimulants to make us happy, relaxed etc, I don't even drink coffee, my high is music and dancing
plus it costs a lot of money
now if it cured cancer then maybe........... otherwise it is useless

I think weed in itself is bad enough if you abuse it. there has long been a link associating cannabis with psychosis and I have seen it happen to a couple of people with my own eyes. so I don't care who says weed is harmless...its a lie. I dont care who smokes it down just don't delude yourself:
check this link out:

With regards to the question I think that sometimes it can lead to harsher things with people who are open to experimentation, have addictive personalities and a void to fill in their lives. I have seen this too.

I dont get it...why smoke weed? What sorta feeling does one derive from it? Happiness?
I'm not having a go, but can someone who's done it before explain to me...
Do you think people would take drugs if it made them feel bad? I think the intiial drug taking/alcohol whatver produces good feelings thats why they are so popular.

Maybe you keep them close just to get that "contact buzz" on the cheap.

i used to drink heavily afew years ago, and realised what it was doing to my insides so ispend about a year tryingto quit. the longest i lasted was 2months. during this time i tried weed, being 17 at the time. and i realised that with me affects of weed was so much better than alcohol. iguessi was bored of the alcohol buzz, and liked anew buzz.also with alcohol, i used to get really rowdy and violent. but with weed i kept my mouth shut, and just enjoyed the thoughts going through my mind.
weed helped me slowly get off alcohol, actually replaced it almost. i still drink abit but not everyday like before. and i dont really have weed that much.
with my own personal experiences if i had weed all the time, and was used to the buzz, and didnt finditanythingabout it so special no more, then i probably would go on to another drug to feel the "1st buzz" again with something else, but it would jus be a different type of buzz.

I dont think it the smoking of weed that leads to stronger substance abuse but, the motive behind smoking it. If you are taking it to get escape reality and problems, then yes over time i think that one may become fed up with the same old buzz and then may go on to the stonger stuff. If weed is taken soley as a recreational drug like alcohol then the answer is no. I personally know people that have been smoking weed for years and they dont appear to be suffering from mental health problems

this is true, but the smoking of weed regularly will increase the chances of you suffering from a psychotic episode. visit Maudsley and you will see what I am talking about.

I tried weed twice, first time it made me violently ill and I was out for two whole days. My body couldn't take it.
Second time, I tried it because I was curious to know why my body reacted to it the way it did. This time around was actually pure jokes I remember taking two or three pulls and with in half a minute it hit me, couldn't get up I felt like my head was way too big for my body and if I tried to get up my body wouldn't be able to support my head. So I sat there in my couch all night waiting for the effect to go. Trust me its not a very nice feeling, to have no control over yourmind.
I do think it affects people differently, and if you don't feel the immediate effect and you abuse itin the long run i believe it will havesome effect on your mind, it's too powerful not too.

I can't speak for weed leading to harder drugs, all i know is my dad smoked many a day and wasn't a crack head or psycho. Now i knew people in school who started on ciggies which led them to weed, so another question could be does smoking ciggies lead to weed? (Unintentional rhyme!!) like someone else said, it depends on the person and how weak they are. People have different levels of tolerance for certain substances. Example: My mothers uncle is a real rummy, always a drink in his hand, could sniff out a bar in the middle of the sahara. He is in his sixties. He took out my now brother in law on his stag night and my bro in law | |
