You ever heard of the Golden Rule. He who has the gold makes the rules!
He who asks is a fool for five minutes. He who never asks remains a fool for ever.

It's not because we eat too much, it's because we exercise too little. Myself... i'm not fat (6' 0'' and 140) but lots of people I know are. I know this is kinda wrong... but fat people disgust me.
I eat too, but because I don't sit around all day watching TV I'm not the size of a blimp. That's my spin at least.

It is as Omaar pointed out. It is a combination of the amount of food we eat, as well as the chemicals and artificial substances that is regular in our food. If you look at the statistics of obesity in the last 50 years, it began to sky-rocket in the 1970's because of all the artificial substances added. This is when they stopped letting cows graze naturally, and gave them feed with all types of antibiotics and steroids to make those steaks larger.Chemical manipulationis alsovirtually unavoidable in other meats (chicken, turkey, pork, etc.), fruits and vegetables.

Another point to make is that people did not have to exercise just to maintain a normal weight just 50 years ago, because our food was still mostly all natural. We should not have to do that. If our food was natural, then our bodies would get the natural nutrients (CLA, etc.) that it needs for the body to function properly.

Inthe states "junk foods" are cheaper than veggies. If you are poor with limited income, one tries to make the meals last. You can buy 3 boxes of macaroni for $1.00 and get several meals versus buying a package of chicken breast which is $5.00 and is for only one meal. Anyone knows that eating healthier is more expensive fresh fruits and veggies. Heck it's twice as expensive to eat healthier in Japan than to eat junk food. I even saw a report the other day that stated that Japanese are getting fatter even though a size 4 isn't fat to me but for them it is due to eatingunhealthy like McDonald's, Coke, ect..they are leaving traditional diets offish and rice.
AA eat unhealthy foods because that is what they were giving from the masters. The fattest portion of the animal. EX: pig feet, chittlins, gizzards, hearts, the neck. They weren't giving lean pieces ofmeat so they grew up cooking these things for their kids and the cycle continues.
The portions in Western civilization are huge compared to Asian countries. I never realized how much I'd actually overate until I moved overseas. Honestly, I large supersize at McDonald's in Japan is equal to a Kiddie meal in the US. I can honestly say that my hubby and I at first laughed when the cashier served us our meal but it was a realization that we really didn't need such a large amount of food. I've actually lost a 30 pounds since being overseas (plus I look huge at 150) compared to these chicks.
Kids here exercise. They are always riding bikes, skateboarding. Even the workers have exercise programs. I see construction guys exercise as a team while I'm on my way to work. In the US, you're looking if you can get a kid off his video game (speaking about my neices and nephews) to go out and look at a bike.
P.S. Fat people are all over the world so don't act like it's only AA in the US.

..................Sorry AA's its one of the first things I noticed...I never knew people could get so fat!
Too many take outs, some people never cook their own food and dont care about the type of food they eat. There is something the manufacturers are putting in your food, every time I go to the states I bloat up...............even from the first bite I can physically feel and see my abdomen extending.....this is true and others have testified to it too...........it takes me a good few weeks to get back to normal once I return.....even if I don't really change my diet.
It cuts across races, White, Black, Hispanic ,ASIAN for goodness sake (and they will all have the same shape too)............I'm not used to seeing so many overweight black men, and you guys are so tall also....I'm telling you there is something they are adding to the food which is causing it.

offtopic.gifSo, you've noticed the odd shape of so many Asians as well?
It seems as if no matter how skinny or fat they keep that same funny looking "barrel" shape with longer backs than legs.
They are made the same way in front as they are in the back and their pants fit them like garbage bags.
A few East Asians like Filipinos and Thai have a nice hearty shape to them, but most of the others like Chinese and Koreans are made as light as feathers.

I don't know bro, though I'll agree with you on thepersavitives, the main reason why I only buy organic from the grocery store though I'm starting to suspect it's not all persavtive free.
But from my experiences your burgers are twice the size of ours, I went to detroit and I asked for 4 cheezeburgers because their usually small and the cashier was looking at me and wonderingif I had the metabolism of those hot-dog munching asiansand kept asking if I was "sure". confused3
And your right Meat consumption is number onein America and yourup there in Chocolate consumption as well.

I don't blame obese people for enjoying food or not being able to control their appetite, althought they should learn to have more self discipline.
I actually put the vast majority of the blame on these corporations and scientists who are pumping the food full of preservatives and poisons that lock into the body and cause obesity in normal people. They know better but are making people unhealthy on purpose.
I also blame those in government for allowing them to do it.
If you want to sit up and eat a whole butter-cream birthday cake by yourself and wash it down with a gallon of milk....that's your business. But if you know that cake and milk are saturated with dangerous chemicals that are hazardous to your health and will cause obesity then you should use a little more precaution.

The same trend is happening over here today I was talking to a lady who I thought was at least 25 yrs of age she was large and out of breath so I got up to give her a seat whilst we waited for the bus only to find out she is a 14 yr old girl (why she was not in school is another story)
This girl got on the bus for one stop only to get off and walk straight into a chicken take away.
Now I watched this girl for a good 5 mins whilst we were stuck in traffic and I noticed 5 chicken takeaway shops all lined within 2 steps from each other all competing will deals. I saw each and every one of the shops packed to the brim with all black people.
I notice all races are getting fatter and much more obese and its definately a lethal combination of food posioning such as chemicals and additives andlack of excercise. Funny thing though most indians sell this crap takeaway and they and orientals are the least obese I see. Indians are a classic example of not eating what they sell.
So its not just African Americans although the level (size) of the obese in America is mind blowing extremely mind blowing but over here is following suit unfortunately. Also it does not help matters that in many states it is essential to have a car you literally have to drive everywhere there is not such thing of quickly popping out to the store on foot like here in the UK.

Madfet,
Yep! Those good ol'cars, just keeping us from walking those miles home.I think that I would be really big if I knew how to drive( I don't) Most times I'm running to the bus stop, walking our just walking in general. People don't realize that, like you said, all of that sitting an riding will make them big and let not forget about jobs that require you sit down. I'm glad that working at library require you to sit down, get up and one in a while lift some stuff. It's my dream job to be a full-fledge librarian and It helps that I don't sit down all of the time. Even if the issue wasn't about getting fat, I just don't like sitting up/ sitting down all of the time.
In general,I believe that the American diet on of the poorest in the nation. Not because we don't have any food, it's the contents that we have in it. I remembered when my ninth grade teacher was talking about our diets. She thought we had the best diet whileAfrica had the worst. I didn't agree with that. I think that she was going by the stereotypical pictures of poor Africans eating grainsfromthe UN or something, but the Africans that afford good food, eat very vell. I like their diets because ( at least some of the Africans I know and see( their food) consists of rice, vegetables lots of fish and some chicken. I also notice that they either hate sweets or aren't big fans of it, unless they adapted to our diets. I don't see a lot them saturating their foods in a lot unhealthy oils ot other unhealty elements if they can help it. Seemingly, they have a balanced diet.
