It f*cks up the lining of your intestines and Colon causing a myriad of health problems from indigestion to malnutrition to Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

I figured since I likeso many of our people was allergic to cow's milk, Soy milk would be a good alternative.

I was wrong.

Just like regular milk, it wasn't until I started having stomach problems did God reveal to me that Soy milk may be the culprit. Especially when it's steamed and usedinpopular cafe drinks.

I stopped drinking it and my health has been improving ever since.

Although I couldn't find anything against it in health books I decided to researchit on the internet and found a growing community of people who had the same experiences I had from drinking Soy milk.
I also found out that not only may prolong use lead to the ruining your digestive track by killing the natural bacteria inside allowing an over-growth of yeast.....but it also causes gastro-intestinal cancer!

Did the research you came across indicate what other contributing factors there may have been to the way your body reacted to the milk? We use Soya because cow's milk is not good for us but none of us have had any problems with it as yet.

I don't want to go back to using cow's milk. That's something that doesn't agree with us and brings up all kinds of gunk in your system a day after using it. Any suggestions on alternatives?

This is interesting. Probably the reason why I usually end up with stomach ache whenever I have a drink in a cafe. Are there any links to back this up?

http://www.soya.be/soy-allergy.php

http://www.soya.be/history-of-soy-milk.php

http://www.mercola.com/2000/jan/9/truth_about_soy.htmThere's a lot of information on the negative aspects of Soy but this article I found to also raise the point of how much we use. Interesting but confusing.

Thanks for the links. I read the articles and I'm convinced that I have soy allergy. The last time I visited a cafe I had just a cup of tea and I felt terrible afterwards. My stomach was hurting and I felt really weird.

I'm going to stay away from soy.

@Precious Stone: Did the cafe claim to have used soya milk though? I thought they just use cows milk.

I'm not sure what milk they used but I have a feeling it was soya milk. Even from the start, the tea didn't taste like your usually cup of tea. The next time I visit I'll enquire as to the type of milk they use.

Maat

First, thanx for providing those links.

Some of the articles I read make a distinction between the fermented and un-fermented soy products with the amount of toxins they contain.

From what I understand, soybeans are poisonous by nature and they have to go through a certain treatement process to remove these poisions.

We may not tolerate cow's milk and are allergic to but soy in many cases is down right POISON to our system but works much slowly.

The most I got from cow's milk was a little upset stomach and a nagging cough; but this crap almost turned my guts inside out after about 6 or 7 months.

I don't think it's an accident that East Asians are the worlds largest soy eaters and they also have the world's largest rate of stomach cancer.

In terms of amount, perhaps I was drinking too much because I was going to cafes and drinking 2 and 3 cups of the shit mixed with coffee.
Plus the fact that the soy milk had to be steamed rather than drinked cold may have made a difference.

Regardless, I don't think soy milk is fit for human consumption no matter how it's prepared.

Precious

You're stomach ache could have been cause by both soy and cow's milk; both upset my stomach.

Cow's milk you feel almost immediately or a couple hours after you drink it, but it takes a few weeks to notice problems after consuming soy milk.

The biggest problem in trying to pinpoint an allergy is not knowing when or what symptoms to look for.

Many people mistakingly believe that the ONLY symptoms milk allergies produce are in the stomach, they don't understand that milk can also give you colds, bronchitis, depression, and a lot of other problems.

Allergies effect the entire body and it may take days or weeks before you notice symptoms.

could it not just be that you are allergic soy milk, rather than there being something wrong with soy milk itself making it bad for people.

Maybe you should drink goats milk. It's much more healthier than cow's milk and all those other milks. Plus it causes less problems in individuals.

Seriously, I've been drinking soy milk since the day I was born. I have had no problems with my stomach drinking soy. Now cow's milk on the other hand....

Yeah soy milk is good for me. I'm not sure why it would cause any trouble for others.

Yeah cow's milk is lethal to my stomach. As soon as I consume something with cow's milk in it, I run straight to the bathroom. (sorry if i'm telling too much information, but it's the truth. blktype)

There are some people who are allergic to soy milk. A few years ago I caught on to the hype about soy milk and decided to substitute cow's milk for it. It was ok at first but then after a whle I started getting severe chest paineach time afterI had hadtaken some. I stopped for a while thinking that maybe I just had a bad batch. When I started again the same pain and hoarseness in my chest returned. Even after I had had a soy yogurt or some other soy product I would get the same thing. Obviously I have now decided that soy is not for me and I am happy drinking cow's milk with my cereal and tea when I drink it.
