What do you use to detox your body and how often do you do it?

Do you take any herbal pills, tea, bitters food etc and has it improved your overall health?

Forget detox, it's a de-Westernise or de-Europe that we need to do.

Mostly by avoiding many of the sources of toxicity and by consuming large amounts of fruits, veggies, teas, juices and plenty of water. Take saunas get massages excercise and sweat.

Of course you can take a colon cleanser since most of you have pounds of crap (no pun intended) lodged up in your intestines.

I detox my body every morning and pollute it every evening lol

My routine every morning is (before work):

Drink a pint of hot water (as hot as you can take) with a whole lemon juice (you can add honey for taste but I prefer the bitter taste).

Gym before work 4-5 times a week alternating between cardio and weights for about 1:15 minutes

Cool down and before showering give my skin a firm brush all over (removes the dull, dead layer of skin which encourages new cells to regenerate and gives you that smooth glowing skin). If detoxing you’ll definitely benefit from this as body brushing helps eliminate toxins from the body and stimulates blood and lymph flow. You can get the body brush from a health store, takes 5 minutes of your time but will give you amazing results within days.

For breakfast I usually stick with fruit salad and snack on Clementine’s until lunch or protein such as boiled egg if I am very hungry.

And of course if you are especially a meat eater you need to have colonic hydrotherapy as often as you can. I know a place where you can get it done reasonably inexpensive, if interested PM me and I’ll give you more info.

After 1PM the pollution begins…..

Yuck i just can't do green, echinacea tea, blah blah i don't like the taste and i doubt it's as good as a simple hot lemon or ginger water. Way i see it unless you are detoxing for special occasion i don't see the point of dotoxing for one week out of a year while you continue to pollute it for the rest of 11 months and three weeks. "I feel" detoxing every morning will get rid of a great deal of the toxin from the night before and over all i do believe my body benefits from it more than when i use to do the no solid food for two days out of a week thing. It's just not practical to continue with not eating for two days every damn week... the mood swings, the hunger, the craving was a bitch.

I once saw a programme on telly about detoxing claiming that - detoxing does not benefit the body in any way, a diet of mainly veggies (the more colour the betterbanana.gif) is more beneficial. Boots sell all kinds of packages including sticky pads to put onto your feet whilst you sleep - all which are yet to be proven.

You could always get a colonic.

about two days a month (during the warm months) I go for a 12 mi. hike on a local beach, and I spend the day there just basically sweating and drinking lots of water and eat fruit only for the whole day. I always feel energized for days afterwards...and a little muscle soreness. I think for some people, it can really rejuvenate your body and your mind. But I wouldn't do that for more than one day at a time.

here are some helpfull tips for a Detox Day....I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds interesting.

http://soul4ce.home.texas.net/detox.htm

Did you know that allowing your body some time heal can actually mean not eating for a while? Giving yourself a day or two without food can actually give your vital organs some time to cleanse and purify. This means drinking lots of water, having 'juiced' veggies and fruits and drinking special teas. Here are some ideas to help your system clean out and thus allow for new, healthy cell tissue to develop:

The Rules:
 1. Don't eat after 6pm the night before a Detox.
 2. Eat only fish, rice and veggies the day before a Detox day.
 3. Have breakfast after 9am on the day of Detox.
Ideas For Your Detox Day:
 1. Drink 4.5 liters of water per day (about three quarts).
 2. Have Colon Hydrotherapy! Ask Loree for more info!
 3. Have some fennel or dandelion tea - these teas facilitate cleansing.
 4. Rub soles of feet with mineral oil and with some fennel essential oil in it. This speeds up the body's elimination of toxins.
 5. Massage your intestinal area every morning and evening.
 6. Take a bath in 2 lbs. of Epsom salts. Relax in the bath for 5 minutes. Massage flesh for 5 minutes. Get out, dry off and wrap up warmly for one hour (maybe take a nap!) This exercise helps to release toxins from your body.
 7. For those of you who teach, massage or are in the service industry, a bath of 1 pound of sea salt, 1 pound of Baking Soda may be more helpful. The above recipe was invented by Barbara Anne Brennan. She is the author of Hands of Light. Ms. Brennen warns that you may need to rest thoroughly after such a bath. This regime also helps to release toxins from your body.
 8. Eat dried apricots.
 9. When you brush your teeth, scrape your tongue.
 10. Eat rice cakes.
 11. Get a loofah sponge for your bathtime.
 12. Brush the skin. This is a great way to help clear off dead skin and help rejuvenate the body.
 13. Eat Red Grapes
 14. Carrot or Beet juice (juiced) everyday.
 15. Have veggie broth. The company Imagine make a great variety of excellent broths.

For myself, I juice fruits (including the seeds) in the blender and drink them, particularly kiwis, red grapesand papayas.

I drink hot water like Abi but haven't done it with any lemon, I might try that. I also drink water a lot more regularly throughout the day.

I also drink raw cerassie which is absolutely vile lol, but does wash out your insides big time.

As for exercise, I jog around the park with wifey about three times a week. I need to get a bike because when you go out riding you can't just stop at any time because you don't feel like it, you're forced to ride home.

I don't eat red meat and I'meating less and less chicken while eating more holistic vegetarian dishes.

I TRY my best not to eat after 7pm but that's one of the things I need to work on!

I have reaped the benefits as I've slimmed down and no longer have a pot belly, but I still need to get more toned cos this summer I wanna look GOOOD yu get me.

liver cleanse, 1-4 cloves of garlic, one lemon juiced, some olive oil, some grapefruit juice in a blender drink every night for 3-7 nights

intestine cleanse, 2 table spoons of organic apple cider vinegar in a tall glass of filered water (taste better if water is cold) drink for 3-7 nights...the longer ...the better... this is also a fat flush..

kidney cleanse, cornsilk... boil it and drink the water

raw fruits and veggies, lots of pure/clean water...

sweat...breath deep...meditate...walk..
