(This system only allows 8 images per reply)

12/02 - Odetta Holmes
Odetta, the folk singer with the powerful voice who moved audiences and influenced fellow musicians for a half-century, has died. She was 77. She was active in the civil rights movement and her music was a profound influence on everyone from Bob Dylan and Joan Baez to Janis Joplin and Maya Angelou.

...The Kitt is gone....

12/25 - Eartha Kitt
The Kitt died today, Thursday, December 25th in year 2008 of colon cancer. She was most recently treated at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York (link : Columbia Presbyterian Hospital) in New York,

This sultry singer, dancer and actress "rose" from South Carolina cotton fields to become an international symbol of elegance, grace and sensuality. At the age of 81 --she was a Mother and a Grandmother.

10/17 - Levi Stubbs
Stubbs (second from left and the frontman for the American pop group The Four Tops) died at his home in Detroit. He was 72. In this 1966 file photo are the Four Tops members: Abdul Fakir, Stubbs, Lawrence Payton, and Renaldo Benson. With Stubbs in the lead, the Four Tops sold millions of records, including such hits as "Baby I Need Your Loving," "Reach Out (I'll Be There)" and "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)."
Man... played a part in a commercial for the Four Tops when I was a kid, can't remember which one I had to pretend to be but I remember doing that tune, Sugar Pie Honey Bunch.

That's so sad. RIP your friend - I know he's now at peace.

I can kinda relate though, 'cos I'm always at my most down at this time of year. If I didn't have my kids who knows?

Right now I'm making some MAJOR decisions about 2009, and some people play no part. I'm scared, but need to do this for my own sanity.

A lil closer to home -- I lost my second cousin to Cancer last week. Death is never welcome, yet we live to die every single day...!
