I am sorry, but I don't buy (and have never bought) the argument that "NOT VOTING' isn't going to solve the problem(s)'.......any more than I buy the 'implication' that "VOTING will".
I also don't buy into the 'guilt-trip' ploy that "By NOT VOTING, it precludes you from complaining/commenting/being pissed about the dire situation those in power preside over" (not to mention actually help create in the first place).
The reason I take my "NOT-BUYING-IT" stance (and the reason why I haven't seen the inside of a voting both since 'New Labour' first came into power) is because experience has taught me that this whole 'SYSTEM' (the KEEPER of which may change face from time to time) is designed to ensure that VERY LITTLE happens outside of the MAIN AGENDA .
Be it Labour, be it Conservative....hell be it Liberal however unlikely that scenario......the bottom line is that the POLITICAL/ECONOMIC and SOCIAL set up in this, essentially corrupt society, is not designed and has NEVER been designed to serve the interest of the majority, the working class, the less advantaged, the masses, the call them what you like. However, its very survival depends on perpetuating the myth among that self-same group of people that "WE HAVE A CHOICE WHICH CAN ONLY BE EXERCISED EFFECTIVELY, BY FOLLOWING THE RULES LAID DOWN BY THE SO-CALLED DEMOCRATIC PROCESS".
If I thought MY voting would actually contribute to effecting MEANINGFUL change to the destructive social-economic menu served up year after year, election after election by whomever happens to be in charge at the time, I would be first in line at the polling station. But, hey we can but hope.
I am not here to urge anyone who to vote for, or to not vote at all.....that is entirely their choice. Though I would be willing to bet that a mass boycott at the polls with the MAJORITY doing what I have done for the last something-plus years would be the catalyst for bringing about real change.
Personally, I dislike Boris and wouldn't trust him to be in charge of a hot-dog stand. I certainly don't expect an out and out RACIST to do anything remotely bordering on the 'of benefit-to-black-people' line. Unfortunately, experience has shown that even those who purport TO BE CONCERNED FOR MY WELFARE, cannot be relied upon any more than the out and out racists.
Respect
There are those who feel that the only way to ‘prove their own worth’ is by ‘devaluing the worth of others’. You will often find that a man who is compelled to measure his substance against the substance of another, has little of substance in the first place!

From Boris's website;
The buses have improved
The tube needs to be rescued from the ruins of Gordon Brown's finance deal, so that vital upgrades that were promised actually happen.
The Congestion Charge must be reformed. We must re-invest more revenue in improving our roads, as well as in schemes to encourage walking and cycling. And for every 8 fee, less should be spent on administration.
We must also encourage Londoners to give up their cars by making public transport more affordable and reliable. Cycling must be made easier and safer.
That private finance deal was PPP so beloved by the Conservatives at some stage was it not?
And how is Boris proposing to reform the Congestion Charge? Can please clarify

INTERESTING....
How about this?
Boris Johnson writing in The Daily Telegraph of 10 January 2002
'What a relief it must be for Blair to get out of England. It is said that the Queen has come to love the Commonwealth, partly because it supplies her with regular cheering crowds of flag-waving picaninnies....'
He goes on to say
'They say he is shortly off to the Congo. No doubt the AK47s will fall silent, and the pangas will stop their hacking of human flesh, and the tribal warriors will all break out in watermelon smiles to see the big white chief touch down...'
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/opinion/m.../10/do1002.xml
The Observer pointed out on Sunday October 5, 2003 that
'Rod Liddle recalls that when he and Johnson went to Uganda together to look at the work of Unicef, Johnson cheerily remarked to the Swedish Unicef workers and their black driver "Right, let's go and look at some more picaninnies."' http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2003...ophyandsociety
But this spoilt conservative candidate didn't there.....He made equally offensive remarks in The Spectator:
'Consider Uganda, pearl of Africa, as an example of the British record. ... the British planted coffee and cotton and tobacco, and they were broadly right... If left to their own devices, the natives would rely on nothing but the instant carbohydrate gratification of the plantain.'

Boris Johnson also said that in South Africa under Nelson Mandela there was established the 'majority tyranny of black rule'

more?
Andrew Gililigan of London Evening Standard tried to defend Boris here:
http://commentisfree.guardian.co.uk/...iganboris.html
And Compass responded by stating that:
1. Boris Johnson supported the Iraq war
2. Boris Johnson supported both the election of George W Bush in 2000 and his re-election in 2004.
3. Boris Johnson opposed the Kyoto treaty on climate change and supported George Bush’s opposition to it
4. Boris Johnson strongly supports nuclear power
5. Boris Johnson, on more than one occasion, talked about black people as ‘picaninnies’, he has referred to Africans as having ‘watermelon smiles’, and claimed that the original inhabitants of Uganda were capable of only ‘instant carbohydrate gratification’.
6. Boris Johnson said that in South Africa under Nelson Mandela there was established the ‘majority tyranny of black rule’
7. Boris Johnson was prepared to discuss with Darius Guppy, who was later convicted of fraud, having a journalist Stuart Collier beaten up
8. Boris Johnson opposed the introduction of the national minimum wage
9. Boris Johnson opposed full pension rights for part time workers
10. Boris Johnson is against the Social Chapter of the EU and against its provision on paternity leave.
11. Boris Johnson is opposed to the congestion charge
12. Boris Johnson supports both fox and stag hunting
13. Boris Johnson opposed the repeal of Section 28 and Labour’s ‘appalling agenda’ of the teaching of homosexuality in schools’.
Boris Johnson apologised again over race issues today after he was accused of condoning an article that claimed black people have a lower IQ.
The Tory mayoral candidate came under fire from Ken Livingstone and a leading black lawyer over pieces published in the Spectator magazine when he was editor.
In one, columnist Taki wrote that "Orientals ... have larger brains and higher IQ scores. Blacks are at the other pole." In another, he described black American bastketball players as having "arms hanging below their knees and tongues sticking out".
When asked today if he had condoned the articles, unearthed by black newspaper-New Nation, Mr Johnson told the Standard: "I am sorry for what was previously written as it does not reflect what is in my heart.

Coltrane: Methinks you need to scroll up and read my views again... I am NOT advocating a vote for BORIS over Ken livingston.. I stating that Ken has NOT earned the Black vote and stated why.. My comparison with Boris was to illustrate that ken is no BETTER than boris when it comes to racism or promising jam tomorrow....please reread what i wrote from the TOP..thanks!!!

Now in comparison to Livingston and my comments therein please can you contrast and compare and tell me in straight terms how Ken .livingston is either BETTER than Boris, or deserves the BLACK vote over Boris, Paddock or the other 7 contenders ..again my point was not to Push Boris in favour of Ken... but to undermine the politics of fear that tell me i HAve TO VOTE kEN or else i get Boris..when in fact there is NO difference between BORIS OR KEN..that sir is my point...therefore as i have stated its time for BLACKS to be equally political with OUR vote and use it to BENEFIT US and only US!!! is it sinking in now!!?

again in contrast..instead of using BORIS as the scare tactic...where is the investigation into KEN and what he has ACTUALLY produced in his TWO terms for BLACK people? I find it interesting that I've yet to read an equally indepth report of the 'success' of Ken and why we SHOULD vote for him except to keep boris out...for me this is pathetic politics that belongs in the last century and not in this century sorry!!!

I haven't even touched onthe JOKE Olympic bid that he brought in with that other joker lord Coe...without consulting the average joe..and then levies an extra £20 on my council tax to pay for something that is clearly under funded, and ill concieved.. So i'm waiting for him and his cohorts to admit the f.... up and then to admit that we are going to charged MORE to this joke games..and stop lying about it..
Then we have his briiliant idea but stupid idea to give free bus passess to everybody but hard working people to uses the buses.. Great so not only is it now nightmare to use the flippin bues at certain times now.. all these mythical PCSO's that was supposed to keep order have not materialised... Plus where is the insentive to work these days..the way things are i'd be better off sitting on welfare, that way i get cut price travel, cut price entertainment and I can do it all on the back of hardworking people...subtitute the word MUGS to pay for it all..
but what really gets my personal goat is his underhand and disgusting underminding of the Notting Hill Carnival, with his joke alternative in Hyde park and sending his lackey Lee jasper to attack the Carnivale commitee because they won't play ball with Mr Ken... Whilst I think the carnivale commitee leader is an idiot of the year... Ken forgets Carnival is NOT his to make money,off....it belongs to African Carribean people who started it...
Further I have yet to get an explaination as to why an event supposedly for Black people, then decided to invite and then disinvite a Black scholar..because some Jewish lobby to offense with said person sharing a platform with someone THEY disliked... Not only was the way that disinvite was executed insulting and disrespectful.. the explanation and the whole back story behind it was nothing short of outragous...
So I would encourage all right thinking BLACK people out there, NOT to vote for Ken again..unless he makes specific promises that enhance or helps our community directly... but in any case you should not vote for him because Ken and his ilk have taken our support too lightly and for granted for far too long... He has done nothing to deserve our support...so either don't bother to vote or vote if you can stomach it on a protest vote to ensure he [ken] is booted out of office...

Lets detail this shall we..He became the leader of the old GLC..by effectively commiting a coup, on the the leader we voted in literally days after the Labour GLC was elected... As an OLD tenant of the GLC.. i have to say i wasn't impressed that he let my estate run itself into the floor whilst spending stupid money on every other friging group that begged him for money... There is no point talking equality when I have walk into urine smelling lift day after day with my child .with NF dawbed all over the lift and the n word plaster in plain sight...when i had to run the gauntlet of NF attacks routinely...I don't want to hear we are the world i want bloody action..
Lets move on..shall we...because i could talk all day about the GLC ...Lets talk about the same KEN we agreed..to abide by the election rule before he became mayor of London.. the back tracked when he was soundly beaten and ran against the man who beat him...
This is also the same Ken who said i would only run for TWO terms and is now running for a third....
The same TrustWORTHY ken who defended the shoot dead of an innocent man no less than seven times in the head..in what had to be by the kestone cops.. But Blair is the best man for the job... another serial liar and joker if ever there was one!!!
The same Ken who said he would not get rid of the routemaster bus..then got rid of them in double quick when he came into office...in favour of what BENDY buses wow!!!
The same Ken who said he would not increase the C charge then increased it when he got back in on his second term of office... then made it bigger against the will of the people...
The same Ken who tried and failed to make the case for a street party to be held in a park.. then went about sabotaging the event year on year to get his own way..and because it wasn't happening quick enough for his liking..then set his lapdog Lee I've nothing to hide jasper to attack the commitees competency and its commitee live on radio numerous times...
The same Ken who decided to have an event for Black people but then 'dis invitended' our for most scholar on the say so of the Jewish lobby.. The man didn't get a chance to make a case...
the same Trust worthy KEN who won the Olympic for LONDON hurrah...then put £20 on my council tax...and I already know that this £20 levy is way too low, and the budget for the Olympic unrealistic..so I'm waiting for TRUST WORTHY ken to tell us the truth that they are going to increase the Olympic levy on us to pay for their horlick...I lie then mark my words...and wait!!!
The same Ken who year on year has co hosted the Educating the Black child conference with fellow hypcrite and royal piss take..Diane my son's too good for you Abbot..and what has come out of these annual events except promises..talk and bullshit... youth on youth killing up.. youth on youth crime out of control... and number target with a bullet young BLACK males...
What pray tell has Jasper..or Trust worthy KEN done to deserve either our support or our vote.....you're SHOCKED!!! you need to wake up and remove your head from Ken arse..then you won't be 'shocked' when BLACK opinion smacks you in the face!!!
I dislike boris..i have nothing in common with the middle class twat.. but how is he going to be WORSE than the same TRUST worthy KEN who has effectively stood by and said nothing in the face of the delunge of racist legislation proposed by the equally racist Labour party....GTFOH wid your SHOCKED!!!
Joker...
