someone told me about this site mentioned in the Grauniad a few weeks ago and for those ADDICTED to searching for friends/colleagues/workmates and mainlyyour( ex's details ) on how much they paid for their house. Good exampleon my street there are a couple who just moved in and paid £363,000 for a two bed leasehold flat living opposite a guy who paid £263,000 a year before for a HOUSE....i.e. freehold.....someone somewhere has been stitched up.....talking about snooping www.nethouseprices.com http://www.guardian.co.uk/g2/story/0,,1417108,00.html
If the house next door is for sale at, say, 260k, yet you paid 150k for your one, it shows how far the value of your house has risen. If, however, the house next door sold for 200k when it was up at 260k, this shows there's something seriously wrong, and you may need to protect your investment.
