I don't know about the most popular. But I can say this.Only two Democratic presidents have been elected in the last thirty-five years. They had two things in common. Both were moderates from the South(Carter & Clinton).Despite all the pre-hype the Dems would be foolish to draft Hillary. It would be another G.O.P slaughter.A senator has not been elected president since Kennedy.I will put my $$ on Gov. Mark Warner of Virginia to get the Democratic nod. He's a Dem in a almost solidly red state. He's a fiscal conservative who gave the state a surplus with a Republican statehouse.

Being from Massachusetts I'm pitching for the home team. Kerry has a better Track record and changes positions when something isn't working (Flip flops). A leader has to know when something isn't right or isn't working. I think he'd make the USA more isolationist so that we can focus on more domestic issues and less of everyone else's problems. Sadly, my inside sources tell me that he may not run in 2008 confused2 So I'll be Rolling with John Edwards (D) or John McCain (R)

Governors have more experience running a government, each state functions like a mini USA. Senators have to act in unison to get something done. They are usually polisci people or lawyers, no real experience running a government, no track record, all theory.

Why do you think Hilary would have no chance?
Masai
Senators sit in the senate and governors govern states right? How do the senators and governors of a particular state work with each other? How is it organised and set up? Do all the senators live and work in Washington while the governors stay in their states?
Please explain the system

Dm:
Senators represent the state in the senate, vote on bills in interest to the State voters etc... They stay in office almost until their death, conduct inquiries, block Judicial nominies hold hearings, write, pass and reject legislation. They are part of the Checks and balances of our Government. They can be in office for years upon years and gain no leadership experience, they stay in Washington. Governors are the president of each State. They manage a budget work with a state senate, set up foreign trade, run the National guard, manage hundreds of cities, host dignitaries, go on trade missions and more. They do everything for the States and stay in the States. I hope this answers for you. Feel free to offer more questions.

Still linked to Bill who's a very divisive figure.

They do not unless both are from the same party or want funding from the federal government. The Senate is sort of like your House of Lords, but with real power. They are elected to six year terms. They make up one half of Congress. Each state is allotted two senators, while representatives are elected every two years from what is known as Congressional districts that are determined by the census.

Senators work in Washington DC.Their offices are in the US Capital and adjacent buildings.Governors reside in the states they represent.

I am not sure if I belong to that group though I am not white but I have always admired Obama from reading his auto biography he comes across like the late Philipie Wemba who wrote KINSHIP but the difference seems that Obama came from some humble beginings and I think its more contribute with his Luo tribe which his Kenyan father belong to who are well kown for their academic achievements while Philipie came from a HARD CORE left wing dad(Prof wamba Dia Wamba) of the Congo who made everyone leave their classes and attend his lectures at Nkurumah Hall at University of Dar es Salaam..man that man was on fire or plain sipmle students were simply RADICALISED idealists... just like those you'll meet at London School of Extremists..ooops(economics)

Obama speaks more truly than he knows... or maybe he does know, he's not a dumb guy.
In a way i think it's true: Dems have gotten away from common sense and support of the truth. But that's not a new thing, it's been going on since FDR's time. For quite a while they were able to fool enough people into staying with them, that they kept getting enough votes to stay in power. But recently they've been sliding further and further in that direction, and as a result, people are becoming disaffected with them as their rhetoric and demands get loonier and loonier.
They're now stuck between a rock and a hard place: They are pushing programs that i think sensible Americans don't want, and funny enough more and more Americans are realizing it. Higher taxes, more intrusive government, control of everything under the sun, appeasement instead of defence in foreign affairs, etc. The people running the party are so rigidly locked into their agenda, and so adamant in their refusal to realize where it's leading them, that the party is unlikely to change direction despite their growing record of electoral failure. So now they are trying to find a way to push the same unwanted programs WITHOUT telling their constituents they are doing so. It's a very difficult task... and as their leftward slide continues, it's becoming more impossible every day, as more people realize what they're doing.
