@ All
Can anyone spot the anamoly here?

An open enemy of the host country,in the UK, is apparently OK,to some posters here.
While a productive group of European origin in say Zimbabwe, are not.

I would be interested to see the convoluted reasoning behind that point of view.

Geoff

Here is my reasoning mr Geoff...

We didn't come here and grab ALL the land from your people by force. On the contrary, we were invited to come and work. We didn't take control of your government and impose a system of aparthied where you as the host become secondary citizens with little to no rights. On the contrary, we were harassed and made unwelcome by our 'host nation' who had all sorts of measures to rough us up.

I could go on and on but Im sure the point is clear no?

When you think things through... that "productive" group in Zimbabwe becomes less productive don't they? Especially when you consider that they were using our labour to produce for them on our land for damn near a century... and furthermore what do you mean productive?

Am I to imply that you believe black people here in the UK are an unproductive group?

Speak plainly...

@Geoff: Productive or not the way that the Cecil Rhodes justified taking another peoples lands is ridiculous to say the least...

Mr Rhodes thinking was as Europeans are "first race in the world and therefore the more of the world [they] inhabited, the better it would be for the human race."...

By the time that you factor in the fact that Europeans who were 3% controlled 75% of the land resources... not so much productive as a well orchestrated 'theft'

the fact that you have conveniently side stepped how these so-called 'productive' Europeans unjustly held the land in the first place, and then linked it in with a very weak connection to the terrorism in the UK is grasping at straws to say the least...

For the people of Zimbabwe, Europeans were an 'open enemy’ who were terrorising them; and although I do not agree with many of Robert Mugabe's actions... I find your parallel a particularly odd and insulting one to make...

...........Allow me to speak plainly on his behalf(thinks and hopes Mr.Geoff doesn't contradict me later lol)....he was obviously comparing imo the UNPRODUCTIVE haters of the Host Country UK....with (in his opinion) the productive Farmers of Zimbabwe who created the Bread Basket of your Country.......Needless to say(but I'll say it anyway lol) I do not disagree with any of the other comments U made,,,there is NO implication there about Black Peeps being UNproductive there IS however about haters of this Country being so....how can anyone deny a "Hater" is anything but unproductive......that is right ain't it Geoffrey Old Son....er,Geoffrey...Geoffrey.....

@ CB

So the comparison is between 'haters' of Britain and productive white famers...

My point is that those farmers in my view WERE haters of Zimbabwe despite their claims to the contrary. They hate everything about the people... and in growing mainly tobbaco and keeping the ogligarchy in place they were not quite as productive as you might imagine. The people were not starving and had a bread basket as you call it BEFORE they came. They merely industrialised things and then when they left the place was in a worse state then before they came...

Bread basket? Cockneybouy that is like telling your sheep in the abotoir that at least they are well fed... a fatted calf comes to mind. What good is this "bread basket" when people have no rights and no freedom and grown men are BOY? Don't try to make those white farmers out to be saints because whatever they told you over here is bullshit...Just reverse the situation and see.

I DO compare those haters of Britain to the white farmers. But the white farmers actively DID more damage...

DM...The reason I've steered away from talking about Zimbabwe is because I accept someone like you,for instance IS more au fait with the "real" situation there...I'm only getting a certain angle second-hand....so your points are noted....however I would say that whilst obviously those Farmers weren't altruists they were like all Businessmen looking after themselves primarily but in doing so where providing a needed service....surely Mugabe has "cut his nose to spite his face" with their expulsion?..look at the contrast now or is that a Westernised distorted view?...(serious q.).....btw Another genuine q.....That is a joke re: calling some of them back I trust?

It goes further than simple business Cockneybouy. It goes further because it Rhodesia was not a meritocracy was it? Therefore any praise of their business skills is irrelevant since they had laws and army in place to enforce subjugation and render any competition impotent.

It is their system of governance and land ownership that has left us behind in the first place... Ill hear no more praise for them!

.........No praise then but do U agree Mugabe has "cut" etc as above and I'm not being flippant Mugabe isn't really doing an "Idi Amin" i.e.Expelling some of my former Ugandan Asian colleagues then asking them to come back soon after?

I was not aware that he asked them back and would seriously seriously doubt the veracity of such reports. You know full well I have my beefs with him but he would not go back on the one great thing he did right in that fashion. It is possible a member of the Zim parliament might have said something like that but its HIGHLY unlikely that Mugabe did.

I remember somebody saying something about a short term leases of the land which IMO is still unsatisfactory.

CB in the short term, there will be difficulty. A transition period if you like... those people sabotaged the farms and took all the machinery away. It will take time to build up again...

Long term it is far better that the land was taken back for us than if we did not have any at all. It was a shameful way to live.
