What do we call a Briton, of Indian ethnic origin, whose parents migrated here after their families had lived for a hundred years in East Africa? South Asian African Briton does not easily trip off the tongue!
Presumably the American Britih classification would be subdivided into WASP and African Americans and migration could result in Indian American Britons (not American Indian Britons, they would be Native American Britons!).
We will of course also have to have Scots Britons, Irish Britons, English Britons and Ancient Britons (some of whom still speak Welsh as their first language and learn English at school)!
what if one is a Welsh/English/Dutch/Scots Briton (also incidentally entitled to Indian citizenship?) I cannot think of anything more divisive. Ifsome are born here or have taken citizenship, they are British and united(presumably)
What we are seeing here is a government that is is in panic mode, driven by the Press and grasping at straws.
