A rapist who filmed himself attacking a 19-year-old woman in Greater Manchester has been jailed for 14 years.

He planned to send the phone images to his friends but was unaware he was being filmed by CCTV cameras.

At one stage he grabbed the 19-year-old girl by the throat and held her down by her hair. He punched her so violently that he fractured her jaw in two places and broke two of his own fingers. He was convicted of rape and grievous bodily harm.

Rapist who filmed his attack gets 14 years

A rapist who used his mobile phone to film the attack on his teenage victim was jailed for 14 years yesterday.

Jon Leaver, 23, intended to send images of the assault to his friends. But the incident was recorded by CCTV cameras, and it was that evidence that helped to convict him.

Leaver carried out the assault after meeting the girl at a nightclub in Leigh, Greater Manchester on Feb 19.

At one stage he grabbed the 19-year-old girl by the throat and held her down by her hair. He punched her so violently that he fractured her jaw in two places and broke two of his own fingers.

Leaver, of Atherton, Greater Manchester, who has a tattoo on his stomach that depicts the face of a disfigured woman, carried on the assault despite twice being interrupted by passers-by.

He was convicted of rape and inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. Passing sentence at Liverpool Crown Court, Judge David Boulton described the attack as "grave, horrendous and abhorrent".

His "disturbing" tattoo made it clear that he held women in contempt and was a danger to them.

The judge added: "The violence you used was extreme to the point of being sadistic."

The court was told that the girl and Leaver kissed inside the club and left together at about 1.50am. He took her to a deserted bus station where they had consensual sex.

But Leaver became increasingly violent, lifting the girl on to a 3ft wall and grabbing her hair and throat as she tried in vain to push him away.

He then punched her so hard that she was probably knocked unconscious.

Seven months later his victim still has to wear a metal plate on the side of her jaw.

She said: "I am trying the best I can to get on with my life, but it is difficult and I have a constant reminder with the injuries I have suffered.

"I hope people can look at this case and see that the right result can be found and that people should not be afraid to come forward.

"No means no, and no one should go through what I did."

14 years is not enough and notice that the younger ones seems to be committing some of the most sickening crimes ever he definately was a mentally sick person but that girl saying no should mean no should also state that women should not pick up men from a club and have sex with them.

You do not know someone close to shyte from a club where music is drowning in your ears and alcholo is a major factor and perhapes drugs.

I don't overstand how it wasn't stopped immediately by passers by maybe they thought they were not enough to take him on and try and help the girl.

This is a nasty sicko and his type will be dealt with in jail.

she put herself in that position so its her fault too. having sex with some random nutter. any decision you make be prepared. there are different classes of rape though this one was a sick act even to video it geez.

by the way uk justice system isnt harsh enough on these criminals they could get only 3 years for murder.

I was looking at this thread and in light of all the Black on Black violence articles that have been posted on this site, I was hoping that the guy who did this wasn't Black.

Thank God he wasn't.


I personally think he deserves the death penalty for the crime because the few women I know who admit to being raped all say it felt like something "died" inside of them afterwards. Almost all of them usually end up with some sort of phsychological problem.

This guy is a sicko and when I read this story I even said to myself the friends that he was going to send the recording to should be investigated who knows what that nasty little clan have done in the past and got away with it.

Where are his community leaders?

Anyone know?

He probably listened to savage white music like heavy metal/death metal, which glorifies rape, murder, torture etc.
