1.WE WANT FREEDOM. WE WANT POWER TO DETERMINE THE DESTINY OF OUR BLACK AND OPPRESSED COMMUNITIES.
Impossible language of contradiction, you cant “Want Power to self-determine it is a linguistic contradiction. To say “WE WANT… is the voice of a non-self determined people like a child asking for a sweet. We can say we demand reparations but we cant demand freedom to self-determine. We seek it with in ourselves and do it, we don’t ask for it. This is really shows zero lack of understanding of the term self-determination.
2.WE WANT FULL EMPLOYMENT FOR OUR PEOPLE.
We want again is the problem, what we need to do is employ each other and seek independent business which we own control and run, then we engage with them as and when we see fit and stop being a resource of their companies and being our own resource
3.WE WANT AN END TO THE ROBBERY BY THE CAPITALISTS OF OUR BLACK AND OPPRESSED COMMUNITIES.
This is valid but we must do this for self again. If we take on the role of educating our people and investing in African business and setting up our own companies then it wouldn’t matter. They rob us because we let them. Our artist want big money and sell their souls to these companies, we are myopic and this is the only way they are able to exploit us. We need to own our own culture and not let it be sold to us by non-African groups.
4.WE WANT DECENT HOUSING, FIT FOR THE SHELTER OF HUMAN BEINGS.
If we keep addressing the head of weeds they will always come back, even if in a different form. They key again and in general is to do the above and all things will fall into place. If we are Men we fix our own problems we have enough wealth, so yes demand that they do it but have a plan for they aint gonna do it and purge our dependency. Our future can no longer be held in the air waiting on a European verdict.
5.WE WANT DECENT EDUCATION FOR OUR PEOPLE THAT EXPOSES THE TRUE NATURE OF THIS DECADENT AMERICAN SOCIETY. WE WANT EDUCATION THAT TEACHES US OUR TRUE HISTORY AND OUR ROLE IN THE PRESENT-DAY SOCIETY.
We need to not look at the fruit of the problem but the root of the problem. The education is poor because we expect them to educate us. Maybe it would be better to look at having full African participation in the national curriculum and funding for more African centered schools. Asking for the wrong thing means we will be back asking when the root of the problem bears new fruit.
6.WE WANT COMPLETELY FREE HEALTH CARE FOR All BLACK AND OPPRESSED PEOPLE.
We need more African doctors and more African run health centers how can we trust the people that did so many experiments (Tuskegee) on us with our health, they are the reason for our bad health in the first place.
7.WE WANT AN IMMEDIATE END TO POLICE BRUTALITY AND MURDER OF BLACK PEOPLE, OTHER PEOPLE OF COLOR, All OPPRESSED PEOPLE INSIDE THE UNITED STATES.
Yes we do. But this can be again achieved by making sure we are sitting in political positions to act and change things. It is all about political power and all these things will fall into place. And not black politicians but African centered politicians.
8.WE WANT AN IMMEDIATE END TO ALL WARS OF AGGRESSION.
yes we do, and we need to ban together in unity with all the oppressed people of the earth on an international level—beyond borders
9.WE WANT FREEDOM FOR ALL BLACK AND OPPRESSED PEOPLE NOW HELD IN U. S. FEDERAL, STATE, COUNTY, CITY AND MILITARY PRISONS AND JAILS. WE WANT TRIALS BY A JURY OF PEERS FOR All PERSONS CHARGED WITH SO-CALLED CRIMES UNDER THE LAWS OF THIS COUNTRY.
I think there is an error in this we don’t want them free on the basis of color we want them free on the basis of justice. So maybe some retrials but we need also to stop giving people a reason to arrest us because lets not pretend that many of our people have done silly things, the difference is for those silly things they get the hardest side of the law. But had they not done anything in the first place they would be so few of us in there in the first place.
10.WE WANT LAND, BREAD, HOUSING, EDUCATION, CLOTHING, JUSTICE, PEACE AND PEOPLE'S COMMUNITY CONTROL OF MODERN TECHNOLOGY.
this is a poorly constructed point which seems to be throw disconnected points in to make it a clean 10 as opposed to doing an 11th point. My suggestion is the need for representation selected and elected by our community in all areas relating but not limited to our interface with UK/ America and the broader world. We also need to have an economic program in place which promotes fair-trade and commerce with Africa and African owned business in the USA/UK and naturally in Africa. This will achieve much more than the above point. Because we can go on forever asking for items but if we change the system that creates those problems then we have no more system producing the problem.

I'm curious about 'black americans'
How do you (black america) ever expect 'corporate america' to take you seriously if every time you open your mouth the 1st words are "I WANT".
There are enough of you all to start your own bank...Finance your own industries...
You never know..one day when you get you act together you could go to the table and tell america "This is how its gonna be"
smoking-devilTrue Sit but they'll argue like lobsters in a barrel about "who the boss is" and forget what they were going to ask 'america inc'
blkdemon......!

Ocacia, sorry to say this, but if it was back in da days where i had all da time for long debates, i would have make a serious damaging critique to your critique of the PANTHA PLATFORM. Just to even start, who said the fact that they put want was speaking to crackas? We Want... could only be communication between them and engaging their own people (Africans) to show them what the objectives of the organisation is about. And through that they found strategies to struggle to make it a reality. But u assumed from start that want meants they were telling crackas this is what we want. from that angle it changes the perspective for most of yourarguement of which itdoesnt become a critique but your misunderstanding, the rest of it needs much details of which I really dont have the energy for.
UHURU mean FREEDOM!!! Uphold the names and rep of those that made you current situation possible and build for better where they left off!!!

I was talking about the critique.
I think those points were relevant (in the US) back then when crackers had all the butter and cream (milk and honey) and were more blatantly oppressive. Now things are a tad diffrent. It depends really.... were you talking about internationally OC?
Thats a whole diffrent kettle of ponies.

when intellegence speaks it speaks in clarity. I wrote a detailed break down of the errors in their plan. A plan i see replicated in the above group. I want I want.
Like a dribbling child "I want, I want" and so if they dont give? So if they dont give we stay in the swamp that we are in?
Why should they give? Would the wolf give to the sheep?
These groups have a victime mentality locked in a system of mental oppression speaking for a liberation which ultimately within a framework not our own. How can you ask the man for health, get your own doctors build your own universities or actively seek high post in theres asa counter.
If you have a problem with anything dont waste my time and say "I dont have the energy" then if you dont have the energy dont bloody write anything. If you have a serious contribution then hit my comments with sense. cant understand a word some of yall say.
We want can I have is the vicitim, 300 years of victim energy. Who the hell is it demanding these things from NAT? We dont have them so it must be asking the man. If i misunderstand and i am intellegent (i think) then something must be seriously wrong with the proposal if intellegent people dont get it.
How can you demand self-determination. Same crap people been talking 50 years ago. 2005 and the same old dumb plan. Give me can i have me somma that freedom massa
join the real revolution and liberate oneself---all else will follow

^ That I can understand but when critisizingthe BP point plan I disagree and repeat.
Diffrent times sister.
Good to make a point but otherwise it has to be understood that back then oppression had a diffrent smell. The smell warded off all those who would have setup communities within communities.. in fact the smell shot people who would have set up communities within communties and so a point plan was put into circulation.
Steven Biko did the same whilst creating an economy within the ghettos of South Africa a set of demands.
''I WANT'' as a demand not as a feeble statement. They had to murder half of the BP party to hush up that ''I WANT'' because it was set to become a ''We WANT'' demand and a bit more than a whimsy cry for attention. They had a political plan which I'm sure included doctors, infrastructure etc...

WHO DA HELL U THINK YOU R????
You r a full of crap hot headed poster. I dont take offense to what you have said to me one bit at all, but when a non entity to our people feels they r on a level to open your mouth about people who were killed, murdered, brutaly assulted, battered, set up programms to cater and feed homeless, set up education programs, stood up against police with guns for thesame WANTS your critisize, when people like u who havent achieved have as much and contributed half as much to your peoples ability to walk in town without getting beaten, the contribution to international liberation or being openly segregated in public, but made a few pointless posts on forums and then think they r on a level to speak on the real Black Panthers like that u shud be slapped!!
The wants was nothing but a program explaining the character of the Black Panther Party, unfortunately for your short sighted perspective on their actions, you have been led to believe they stood infront of cracks just saying this is what we want.....WELL U R WRONG. Because if this was the reality they wouldnt have been considered the biggest threat to the united states at the time. Dont be fooled by those silly movies that give some minor representation of the Panthers. These people were well organised in making those wants a reality. Your mental lock down and you lack of doing your research prevents you from knowing that they werent asking for it they were organising to take it. Until u get involved with such work all that type of goo would come out of your mouth. That avator u use is perfect for u!
HOW DARE "YOU" SPEAK BOUT THE BLACK PANTHERS LIKE DAT!!!! I AINT EVEN GOTTEN TO YOUR APPROACH ON THE INTERNATIONAL PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC UHURU MOVEMENT! PEOPLE IN OUR ORGANISATION TODAY, HAVE LOST THEIR OWN CHILDREN KILLED BY THE STATE, ORGANISED RIOTS, GIVEN HOMES TO HOMELESS, SET UP BUSINESSES, AND U COME WIT YOUR BIG MOUTH TALKING BOUTOUR DEMANDS ISWAITING ON A WHITE MAN. HOW DARE "YOU", U UNGRATEFUL CHILD!!!
UHURU means FREEDOM!!

Ocacia you're a complete jackass! who the hell do you think you are criticizing my Black Panther Brothers. I'm sick to death of uncle toms like you always ready to knock brothers that are doing positive things for their people. The bottom line is ,is thatbrothers like the Black Panthers are there literally fighting on the front lines while weak ass coconuts like you sit on the side lines running your big mouth. The Black Panthers back up what they say by actions i already know this because i'v seen what they do.You don't have the balls to even measure up to what these brothers do especially when brother Khalid Muhammed was leading the panthers so if i were you i'd shut the F**K UP
